What a great day in oz we had today.

We spent the day fishing on the pumice stone passage (moreton bay)

We decided this time that we would take the bbq with us as the little one (age 4) gets bored. So while we were sailing up and down the passage we decided to head to one of the numerous golden beaches on Bribie Island. By pure luck we stumbled upon a camp site which only had 10 pitches there. The place is beautiful, and after talking to some people already there we found out this place is a national park spot, costing only 14 dollar per night to pitch up.

We are now planning our trip for next weekend.

Hi Eddie,

We are staying at Bribie Island when we activate our visas (we leave in one weeks time - can't wait!!:jiggy:). It does sound like a lovely place, and so great to read your post about it, now we know that the beaches are lovely too!

How was the fishing? What's being caught at the moment - and what baits are best used?

It's a shame we won't be there when you're camping there next weekend , it would have been great to meet up up with some PIOs whilst staying there!

Enjoy your weekend next week, which we'll hopefully read about when we get back in September!

Hi

You're sure to love bribie. What are your plans? Are you there just short term activating visa? The fishing around bribie is great. Loads of flathead, bream. The best baits are yabbies, prawns.

Like i say, not sure how long you're at bribie for but drop me a pm as i try to fish most weekends around this area. If you're about we can make arrangements to maybe take you out on the boat for a couple of hours and do some fishing.

Hi Eddie

We are at Bribie from 19 Aug - 3 Sept. We're renting a house which backs onto Skippers Canal near Banskia Beach. Got our own pontoon so ideal for the boat! We've looked into hiring a boat - seems reasonable. We would love to meet up - we're there over two weekends so say which suits you best. Will pm you.

Hi all we are just back from camping in very rural France. We had extremes of weather you would not believe. We were actually camping in my friend garden! They have bought an old farmhouse with 14 acres which they are slowly doing up (hence no where for us to stay so we camped in the garden. The crossing was very very wet and the drive down to Mortain was so wet we nearly gave up and went to a hotel as the visablity was so bad.

When we got ther we did have some gorgous sun but it only lasted two days and then it was persisting down. It was our first attempt at camping and it was a baptism by fire but we shall do it again it was fun and we would definatly like to try it in Australia. So keep that address for us.

Got some cheap wine though so all was not lost!:biglaugh:

Sounds lovely although being a National Park we will have to put the dogs in their holiday home-which they love anyway !

Bribie beaches etc are lovely but there are SO many burn-out marks on the inner bit of the Island : Caboolture goes on holiday :-)

Stick to the beaches and pumicestone passge (dolphins often spotted !!) and it is gorgeous !
