But the UK? He could have come back, retrained and applied again. Australian immigration policy isn't the bees knees, and I can't understand why the UK wants to replicate it. But I don't think you should change the immigration system just because of an obvious case of mental illness. One has to wonder , as he clearly had mental health issues, whether he would have passed the medical for PR anyway, even if he had reached the level to pass skills assessments etc. Even a Spouse Vusa would require him to pass a medical.
