SUPERSTARDJ01
hi, I'm curious, is there a way in QLD to purchase rego without purchasing the 3rd party insurance if you have purchased fully comp? otherwise your buying multiple insurances. cheers

Fully Comp here in Australia is not fully comp as you know it in the UK. Fully comp here doesn't include the coverage that the compulsory 3rd Party insurance covers. So there's no duplication and you're not paying for anything twice. It would be daft if that were the case. People would complain.
SUPERSTARDJ01
So fully comp covers you for fire theft and fault claims just not 3rd party claims???

Comprehensive covers you for damage to your car. Third-party only and third-party, fire and theft policies cover damage to others as the result of an accident that was deemed your fault. Hope that helps. (If I just said yes it might actually be more misleading)
Bulya
You need both. There is no duplication
rammygirl
In SA the REGO covers third party to people only, not property or other cars. So you still need third party insurance if you hit another car or someone’s wall for example. No duplication.
