ambrishshukla123
Hi can anyone please tell me: i applied my wife's partner visa in March 2017. We were allocated a case officer in a month time to submit only two dodcuments which we did in 28 days period including additional like ielts. Since then we have not heard anything from the department yet. Applied through agent and its almost 6 months. How long it may still take to get the visas. Many thanks
Guest
Depends what country you are applying from. High risk countries can be a lot longer than those deemed lower risk.

Like which month they are currently processing
Guest
On shore applications are running at about 15 months plus iirc. Its a slow process on shore. Don't expect anything for a long while yet.
ambrishshukla123
So basically I have had friends who got within 6-7 months period. Why did they ask required information so early? Can i expect atleast by early Jan 2018

Guest
If I recall correctly. Lucky them. Other timelines are far longer and I can't recall anyone in recent times getting an on shore grant so quickly. Was your application off the back of a PMV or just a partner visa application lodged. MaggieMay24
Perhaps he was asked about the 2nd instalment payment unless she could provide evidence of Functional English and then she submitted the IELTS. I've never heard of any other reason for needing it for a partner visa.
