I have 457 with ASD child and was hoping if we go for 186 TRT then health waiver might be our last chance for PR. But I just want to make sure that everything will be fine ahead even though my first attempt of health waiver was approved. Hopefully there will be a reputable agent here to can give some input or others who had the same situation.

You should post your own thread on the forum, titled "Permanent visa with health waiver - ASD dependant" or something, that should get you more responses than in here as there won't be many who have come across this issue.

hi everyone

those who have submitted their visa application, how long did it take for you to receive youR acknowledgement letter??

our 457 expires in two weeks, our nomination has been in since beginning of august. we didnt want to submit ourvisa applicaiton until nomination approved but we are now in the position where we must submit in orderto get the bridging visa.

just wondering once you have submitted it how long it takes to get the letter as that has your bridging visa details on? or is a bridge visa automatically generated on submitting and finalising the application for a 186?

im sorry for asking these questions but we are understandably quite stressed after having been told our nomination would have been approved by end of 2015. and now we are in this awful predicament whereby we have to submit at the risk of losing our hard earned money. it makes us really uneasy to lodge our applcation without nomination approval as if it gets declined we lose $6300. but we have no choice now we have waited as long as we possibly can :(

we have done the application and it is all ready to go now :(

99% of the time you'll get an automated email acknowledging the application and attaching the bridging visa within about an hour of lodging your application. On occasion, there seems to be some hiccup and it may take a few days.

So I wouldn't suggest leaving it to the last day in case of a hiccup, site technical issues (i.e. it's been down this morning), etc. and would apply at least 3-4 days before your 457 expires. Hopefully the nomination will come through in the next few days though so you can have that assurance taken care of.

The thing is there is nothing for me to click under the health assessment tab in my immi account under my visa application. All it says is "Required examinations not yet determined-The health examinations required for this person have not yet been determined. If health examinations are required, a link containing the details will be displayed when the person returns to this page."

Is it normal to wait a few months before the health assessment is requested? I lodged my visa on 24/11/2015.

I was waiting. There was no option when I log in.

Than one day I saw the medical link under every applicant so I fill the form and did it.

No request from Co, no status changes, just new option on the list.

Hello Everyone,

I was browsing the DIBP website and found out regarding the note on their site as show below. My question is regarding the ENS 186 TRT. Does it mean that I can't be allowed to apply for PR visa with health waiver fro ENS 186 TRT? I just want to make this clear out before we plan our next move.

Exercising the health waiver

If a health waiver is exercised, processing of your visa application will continue.

Note: A health waiver that is available for a subclass 457 visa may not be available for a permanent visa.

I'm not absolutely sure, but I think that's basically saying that just because you got a health waiver for a 457 doesn't mean that health waiver will transfer across to a permanent visa (e.g. if you applied for a 189 visa, that does not come with a health waiver provision).

If you are applying for a 186 via TRT, that does come with a health waiver provision though. That said and if you were granted a health waiver on a 457 visa, I'd strongly recommend you work with a good migration agent who specialises in medical conditions and George Lombard and Peter Bollard are the two agents most frequently recommended for these situations. If you have already exercised the health waiver on a 457, perhaps it's a bit like closing the barn door after the horses have bolted to use an agent to assist with a 186 application, but you need to consider the 186 as a brand new visa application and process and I wouldn't assume the health waiver is guaranteed.

they have scheduled maintenance. It was info on the webpage.

I was just replying to someone who was saying it was not working for him and he was asking if someone has the same issue. I just said "No it is working for me", at least it was working for me at that moment. Anyway.
