Grabri
Hi guys, we arrived in Sydney on 14/02 and here are first thoughts as well as some pricing. Some items are priced quite similar to the UK, for example 2l milk $2, olive oil 4l $14.50, sliced cheddar $11 a kilo (Aldi), bread either 700 grams cheap 0.89 or nicer for $2.50. Tomato cans $0.59 spaghetti $1.16 a kilo. Fruit and veg are dearer for example a large cauliflower $3.50, bananas are $3 a kilo. 750grams Nutella on offer $6 2 litre diet Pepsi $2 on offer, mobile phones sim only very cheap with Lyca all unlimited and Internet 5gb $20 a month (usually is $30 getting a decent signal in Sutherland Shire) petrol is $1.16 a litre. Also dollar king and reject shop sell very cheap shampoos and shower gels, for example 1 dollar for 250ml decent shower gels, sunsilk shampoos $2. so overall only fruit and veg seem very high, I usually shop at Aldi and get specials from Coles. Danny842003
It helps the exchange rate has changed so much, three years ago it seem so very much more expensive.

rammygirl
Fruit and veg prices are much more seasonal than in the UK . They practically give things away when there is a glut even in the supermarkets.
