Thanks! Can you remember where you read that? We are only talking 6 days difference so I'm guessing that would be within the time frame

Your partner will get their own visa grant number associated with their passport electronically so there is no need to worry.

I flew out of aus and back in on my own when I was defacto on a 457 but I had my own grant number, it came in its own email as well I think, that was 2012 so not sure if it's changed but probably not [emoji2]

No I haven't and I'm still slightly confused over this.

My agent said I don't need to because being from the uk we have reciprocal healthcare with Australia and we are entitled to Medicare.

Now I have been defacto on my partners 457 in the past and know this to be true HOWEVER we were already in Australia and the application was onshore also we both already had Medicare so we didn't have to do anything.

But this time I am applying from offshore, you can't apply for Medicare until you are in Australia so I assumed that I would need private healthcare atleast until I get there and get Medicare?

My agent told me I don't need to so at the moment I'm trusting what he says and following his instructions [emoji2]

I always understood that UK citizens needed to purchase health cover in order to be granted the visa. Then once they arrive in Australia, they can register for Medicare and cancel the health coverage. But for that short period of waiting for the visa, arriving and applying for Medicare the health coverage was mandatory.

Thanks I thought that was the case but wasn't sure whether it was the same for first entry into aus.. I'll give my MA an email just to be safe! [emoji3]

My nomination was processed today, I have completed the visa application but cannot submit it until I get paid next Thursday boohoo (having a hubby and 2 kids makes it 3 times the cost). I am hoping for a quick turn around on the visa so I can have options on when to go, although provisional date is end of December. If it were to come earlier I would not be adverse to an earlier departure from what will no doubt be a dreich Scottish Autumn/Winter.

Yes that's what I thought!

I bet you anything just before he submits my application he tells me to get healthcare!

Just annoys me because I want everything to be ready and feel I've waiting so long already I don't want another set back. Hey ho! I will wait and see, just want this nomination approved I'm so anxious every day it's so stressful.

hi, ask your MA agent about that... because that happened to me as well.. long wait and then my bridging visa suddenly had an expiration.. but if there is a deadline on your bridging visa.. it means an answer has already been concluded and visa might not been approve

Congrats! I'm from a high risk country too and a Relationship Manager for a finance company. Lodged mine in May so I am led to believe that it should be approved in a few weeks. Fingers crossed!

hi all.

I'm currently in Aus on a WHV. My company offered to sponsor me. This has been my timeline so far

SBS Application sent in 7th April Approved 17th June would have been sooner if my MA actually done what we paid her to do!

Nomination & Visa applied 1st July now the wait begins, bridging visa already granted.

Hope it goes through smoothly :-)

i have no idea whether the nomination is approved as they have asked

some additional documents from my sponsor also..

I guess nomination and visa file are being seen simultaneously, well this is just my assumption

but yes my visa status changed from received to information requested, my medical reports will be uploaded by Monday or Tuesday max..

but as per my MA things are progressing positively otherwise immi would had not asked for medical assessment

so for now i am just being positive..

Hello Everybody

I am new to this forum. Following are my timelines:

457 Application lodged: 21st June 2016

Approval of anything is unknown

My employer has a tie up with a big shot MA, MA is a good name in industry. All my documents were submitted/ ready prior to the lodge of application like medicals, educational certificates, experience letters, 1221 & 80

When I asked for application reference number, MA said its confidential and cannot be provided to you; we will do all the tracking on your behalf.

So i am in the worst wait ever !!

Has anyone here applied in june, have you got the grant yet??

Please share your experiences!

Regards

Prashant
