  3. Nomination approval: August 30 Visa application: Sept 5 Medicals submitted: Sept 20 Visa grant: Sept 21 I am flying to Sydney on the 8th of October. I think yours should be released anytime from now. You should coordinate with your employer about what's happening.

  5. Congrats Suzanne! I got my nomination approved on the 30th and lodged my visa application on Sept 5. HR mentioned that it should only take about a week or 2 but I think it will take a month!!!!
  6. Are you waiting for nomination or visa application approval?
  7. Hey Guys! About the health insurance, did you ask your health insurer to submit/ fill out the "health insurance standard template" https://www.border.gov.au/Bringingyourfamilyorpartners/Documents/hi-template.rtf? Or did you just submit the one that was emailed to you by your insurer?
  8. Great. Thanks for the response. I assume it is the same thing for medicals?
  9. I assume I can only start attaching documents once the online application is submitted? I am trying to attach documents but I can't seem to find the option for it.
  10. Thanks!!!!!!!! I purchased my 457 health insurance from Medibank. They sent me a certificate letter. Is that okay?

  16. Hi Samson, You are moving to where as a what? Also, isn't the reference part of form 80? What were the requirements you had to submit for stage 3?
  17. Thanks! Yeah I suppose it really takes a lot of time. I feel like if it's finance related, it takes longer than the rest. Not sure but it's just my observation. Did you fill out any forms for stage 3?
  18. Thanks. I am headed to Sydney too as an Account Manager. Mine was lodged on May 5 with additional info submitted on June 22. So far it is still in "progress." I can't believe that it is taking too long. My colleague's application last year only took 3 weeks.
  19. Congrats Kevin! Gosh I'm still waiting for mine!!! Just a few questions: 1. May I know your occupation and where are you headed to? 2. Did they approve of your visa application or is it just for the nomination? 3. What sort of medicals? I thought it was just chest xray? Thanks!
  20. Thanks Marisa. I'd still stick with the these suburbs. I think I will also try Millers Point. My comment is that Sydney rent is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Thanks Marisa! I heard about the infamous Kings Cross but Potts Point seems really such a nice area. I am leaning towards Woolloomolloo or Surry Hills - not sure if I am right but Woolloomoolloo seems lovelier than Surry Hills. I think Surry Hills has a hipster vibe which is great but some houses look really old. Reasonable prices though than the rest of all the suburbs I mentioned. All I know is that I need to stay away from Red Fern and Ultimo!
  22. I honestly do not know because HR is currently handles it for me. I do not have the authority to view it. Hey Gavin, Congrats! By the way, what's your occupation? I hope you don't mind me asking
  23. Thanks Bungo! I think I will get sharing since I don't want to get homesick too much and I need to make friends. I'd probably do it 1 yr max. For now, I don't want to exceed $380 per week because I'm still testing the waters. About the suburbs I mentioned, is it better to use bus or train when going to CBD? You think I should get a monthly pass?
  24. Hello All! I'm a 27 yr old single female who is moving to Sydney in a couple of months. I will be working in George Street CBD in Sydney. Initially, the company will provide an apartment (Kent Street) for 1 month but after that, I'll be on my own! Do you have any suggestions where to live? Is flatshare better than living alone? I'm a city girl so I love bars, restaurants, cafes and clubs. I want to minimize my rent expenses as well. Here are the suburbs I am thinking of: Surry Hills Woolloomoollo Darlinghurst Potts Point Elizabeth I want to live to work and all the action but I want to make sure that I won't be living paycheck to paycheck. Also, how are the commutes? Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
