  1. You have the same problem as me my visa was only an 18 month 457 because of the business being quite new. This expires march 2018. From what I have read we will not be able to apply for another 457 as they no longer exist. My plans are to apply for the permanent residency as quickly as possible through the employer nomination direct entry scheme on 186 visa. It means you have to do a skills assessment but it's worth it to get the worry over with and right now I'm extremely scared about my future. Good luck to you as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi Suzanne if you are from the uk you are entitled to Medicare but not until you are in Australia, therefore you need to arrange private healthcare to be able to be granted the visa ( I used frank) Once you are over there you can get the Medicare and cancel your health insurance if you wish and you will still be abiding by the rules of the visa. In regards to your medical, are you sure you need one? Your bio does say you are from U.K. If so then you only need to do if you are in a medical profession or childcare, look into it. I never had to as a hairdresser Hope that all helps as for the HAP number if you need it I can't help as I never had to do it sorry Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Congrats to everyone on their recent visas! June/July applicants don't worry just yet your timeframes seem quite normal, it's just luck if it's earlier! I was a May applicant and my visa was only granted a week ago so it took a full 4 months, the wait is horrible but worth it. My flight out is the 19th!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yes It states that a bachelors degree is required which you have. It also states that if you don't have a bachelors degree then you must have the years of experience. You have both so you have a great case for 457 because you obviously have the skills and qualifications that Australia needs. That's what I've read though so it would still be good to get another opinion [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. It's a year from when you enter but I think you have to enter aus within a year of it being accepted otherwise you lose it [emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hi Ricky I am going to Sydney and I applied offshore from the uk through a migration agent in Australia. I'm a hairdresser. [emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Finally finally finally got my visa granted today!!!! It's been an extremely painful wait, think I've been one of the longer timeframes on here! Such a relief now can't even explain it! Timeline Nomination applied 5th May Visa applied 23rd May Further info requested regarding nomination 9th July Further info sent 12th July Nomination granted 30th August Visa granted 2nd September Wahoo now to pack everything! [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I'm using a migration agent but I just sent him the one that was emailed to me the confirmation of health insurance he said that was fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Wahoo double celebration for us! Maybe our visas will be approved within days of each other too?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. My nomination was approved this morning!!!! Can't describe the feeling of relief it's been so long I thought it would never happen!! Timeline Nomination applied 5th May Further info request 9th July Nomination approved 30th August Now just wait for the visa but we feel we can actually start packing now as I don't live near my family, finish everything up here and then spend quality time with them! 11. Oh prita I really feel for you, this is what I am dreading I can't even imagine how this must feel! Your company must be able to prove that they spend a certain percentage of income on their staffs training, this is the existing staff they can't just say they will do it for you they have to prove they do it already. I can't remember the percentage it has to be but they obviously couldn't prove this or didn't provide enough evidence of this? I think like you say they can appeal but I'm also under the impression that it costs a lot more to appeal? I'm so sorry for you I hope you have/get another chance or sponsor [emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks Ricky, that's what I thought just wanted to check [emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Does anyone know how many days they class as 'working days?' I would have thought it was 5 days Monday-Friday but not sure if they include Saturday?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Not necessarily, my application is Sydney. Low risk country offshore 16 weeks waiting still Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. No idea! It seems there can be lots of different factors. How come you left such a long time between nomination approval and putting in the visa application? The waiting period would probably only count from when you submitted the visa but atleast your nomination has been approved. Next step should be grant, it just depends where in the queue it is or who's desk it ends up on? I've been quite unlucky with my timeframes unfortunately so id hate to get someone's hopes up when I know how it feels to wait a very long time. Try to prepare yourself for a wait just incase. Been 16 weeks and still no word on my nomination (after 9 weeks wait employer was asked for further info) still waiting [emoji20] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Has your employers nomination been approved yet? [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Is that for your application (visa) or for the nomination, I didn't think you could see the nomination status? Maybe all of yours will be approved on the same day? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Nomination lodged 5th may Further info requested 9th July Further info sent 13th July Heard that it can take 28 days to get looked at again that will be the 19th August. Praying so much it will be this week now. 15 weeks all together [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. That's real lucky for sure! Me and my partner have the issue that we do not live near our families and we want to obviously spend some time with them before we go. The problem is we don't want to be stuck there with my partner not working for up to another 3 months if we go to family too early! We live in Aberdeen and all my family are near gatwick. We don't have a house to sell so that's great and same as you no furniture as our flat here was fully furnished when we moved in. I will just have to take the chance of leaving Aberdeen and our jobs before the visa is granted to go to gatwick because I would hate for it to be granted before I have the time to see my parents, brother, grandparents etc. Especially if my employer needs me to start also. Haven't seen the family since Christmas. Luckily for my family they are used to not having me just around the corner so it makes the move a little easier for them and me. And nowadays with FaceTime and Facebook you don't feel too far away [emoji2] Best of luck with the move and the flight, tomorrow you go! Wish you a long and happy life in Australia! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Wow that is very quick, what have you done about shipping your belongings? Did you have a house to sell? And just general tying up loose ends, any advice would be great when/if the time comes for me, thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Congratulations! I think you mean 8th August though [emoji12] When are you planning on flying out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Interested to know did you or your employer get asked for further information? Where is it you will be going in Australia? And what occupation have you applied for? Thanks just trying to work out all different time frames In my 14th week now and just losing hope a little bit [emoji17] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. In my 13th week now Been 15 working days that my employer submitted extra information. My employer is very short staffed at the moment and finding it difficult to get anyone. Just wish I could start but waiting along with everyone else Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Don't want to worry you but my nomination was applied for on the 5th May and still has not been approved as of yet. The dibp is really cracking down on fraudulent applications so I am led to believe. If you lodge a complete application then it can be easier but a lot of the time they are asking for further information and even once that is submitted it can take a further 28 working days. Be prepared for a wait is all I can say. Me and my partner were thinking of handing in our 2 months notice for our rental property in May and now we are so glad we didn't otherwise we would be homeless by now. Worst case scenario could be 3 months for each part nomination and visa. Not going to lie it's very frustrating living in limbo but there's nothing you can do except wait. Good luck and try not to make any hasty moving decisions atleast until the nomination is approved [emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Yep agree with bobbie I had a look out of interest and carpenter is on the sol list so you are really lucky and have a lot of options for visas Unfortunately for me hairdresser is only on CSOL so 457 is one of my only options Good luck with your research [emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
