hkwan89
Hi all I am currently on 417 working holiday visa and looking to get on a 186 visa, my company has never sponsored or nominated anyone for visas before. So before i mention visas to them, i was wondering does anyone know what the employer requirements are before applying for a 186 or know a website outlining the exact details for this visa? So if they ask me questions about it, i can show them exactly what they will need to do thanks
blossom
It's on the immigration website. First off, the job has to be on the sol or csol. They need to show all sorts, like a certain number of perminant employees, training budgets of a certain about. Bla bla bla. Personally I think this is one of the visas where an agent it worth the money if the company has not done a visa before.

Ozmaniac
Booklet 5 has fairly comprehensive information on what is involved for an employer who wishes to sponsor someone for a 186. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/books5.htm Booklet 5 The CSOL is the Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List and you must have qualifications in an occupation on there to be eligible for a 186. The first 4 and a bit pages of the CSOL (down to 411214) are the SOL. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/csol.pdf The CSOL You must also obtain a positive skills assessment from the assessment authority for your occupation (column 3 of the CSOL. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/sol/assessing-authorities.htm Contact details for assessment authorities You must have 3 years experience in your nominated occupation. The position must be available for 2 years.

AJ
Do they not have to show they have advertised the position for a certain length of time first?
MaggieMay24
Labour market testing is required for certain 457 visa nominations, but I don't think it's required for a 186.
blossom
The 187 often needs the job to be advertised too, depending on the rules of the individual regional certification board.
