I did think that the age range would have been more of the under 30's for the WHV's but I suppose these days they can't afford it

There's loads of us others too! I can't agree with this in our part of Aus. The vast majority of Brits I meet here are Northern ie North of Birmingham and Scots!

Same here, on the few Brits iv met here, which isn't many (but often hear passing accents ) they seem to be either Scottish, Irish or Northerners. Not met one from the south yet.

I am both, spent my childhood growing up in the north and lived the remainder down south(unfortunately). In my head I'm northern but out of my mouth comes a southerner :goofy:

I'm from darn Saaf - Most Poms I have met who have moved here have come from the North of UK or Ireland. And as for the southerners coming over for hols, I can't persuade anyone to come - they're all too busy popping off on Easyjet every other weekend to exciting locations and tell me it's too expensive to come here!

I have met a complete mixed bag of northerners and southerners, possibly slightly more southerners but not a lot in it. I have met a couple of Scottish, possibly half a dozen Irish and only one or two Welsh.

I have never confused a southerner with an Australian.

Have to say as a true southerner all my life, those stats actually match me perfectly. (except I would put Melbourne up a little higher and wipe out the casino / pokey sh1t).

I know someone who lives near Perth. He tells me the Northern burbs are getting worse for expats from North Uk, all the footy shirt wearers........

It has to be admitted, the northerners are easy to spot in the Northern suburbs, and that is before they open their mouths!
