Aunt Agatha
Good luck Bellyboo! London can be so much fun and I think once you get through feeling fragile and hit your stride you'll have a whale of a time.
ekf
I would think about a little closer to London whilst not being dead central, maybe Putney or Wimbledon or Richmond? Clapham was the place to go when I moved, but that was in the mid 90s and I was a 25 year old so I hesitate to recommend that now. I too would recommend SW London. Clapham is still a good place to be has a large antipodean contingent and there is plenty of nightlife. Find a share house round there and you will be set.
