lebourvellec
Thanks for the info lebourvellec, I will look into it. Do you know if other states sponsor for it? You would need to check through each Individual State Migration Plan - as SA only sponsor Offlist for this occupation which requires having studied in SA. I am unsure that this occupation was ever available for sponsorship for SA apart from offlist. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/state-plans.htm follow the links to the individual States and check their SMP. As I said previously Employer Sponsorship may be your best option. What is your OH occupation.

Guest Jassop
so so sorry for you - I too had a dreadful experience with an agent, won't say who, but a big company - took a lot of money off me and then left me high and dry. they are MARA registered and we have written the formal letter of complaint and sent it off today, but if we have no luck we will definitely take our case to MARA. the real tragedy is 2 weeks after signing up and paying, I got offered a job and my new company are sorting everything! I really really hope you get everything sorted - there are a lot of cowboys out there x
Guest elitobon
Have been looking at other options today. OH has just finished a degree (he works in TEFL and Spanish language teaching) he wants to do a PGCE. I have run my own business for 7 years performing varied responsibilities, had marketing/events/commercial job before this and have a business degree. Roughly how long does employer sponsorship take? Thanks for your help. You would need to check through each Individual State Migration Plan - as SA only sponsor Offlist for this occupation which requires having studied in SA. I am unsure that this occupation was ever available for sponsorship for SA apart from offlist. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/state-plans.htm follow the links to the individual States and check their SMP. lebourvellec
If you get an Employer to sponsor you - the quickest visa would be the 457, which can take as as little as 1 week to grant, if the employer is already a Business Sponsor or can take a little longer up to 4-6 weeks if they are not. 457 is a Temporary Visa - but can lead to PR, through RSMS or ENS. An employer could sponsor you for PR straight away through ENS, but you would still require to get your skills assessed as the Marketing Specialist, by VESASSESS. ACT have Marketing Specialist on their list but it is currently showing as Limited. http://www.canberrayourfuture.com.au/workspace/uploads/documents/act-occupation-list-2012-13.pdf So you could still go down the 190 route - but you would need to look at another State rather than SA. Interpreter is on Vic State Migration Plan http://www.liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0020/225920/State-Nomination-Occupation-List-for-Victoria-09-Jul-2012.pdf Try speaking to one of the other agents that have been recommended for a full assessment for your case - as there looks like there are other options for you. Guest elitobon
Good luck with it! We used this lady aswell. At the beginning she came across as being very friendly and knowledgeable. The longer things went on the more she blamed other people(TRA amongst others) that nothing was happening. There were times when I was telling her things that she didn't even knew could be done. Our TRA came back unsuccessful at the end of may because she had missed out the most basic of information on the application. At this point we decided to do things ourselves and not involve her anymore, as we were fed up with the lies and stories she kept telling us. Since deciding to go it alone, we have sorted out our TRA, submitted our EOI, and just last week submitted our 190 visa application! There are much better agents out there and I would urge anyone thinking of using an agent not to use this lady!
barbaitch
Not all agents are bad, we have some excellent ones on here like Alan Collett at Go Matilda and George Lombard, we also have Raul and Wesley, all are registered agents and are always receiving positive feedback on here. Don't forget Ian Harrop & Associates (UK-based Australian MARA agents), and Brian Jones (Adelaide-based MARA agent). Both highly recommended!!
