So hoping to hear for good news soon in next couple of days.....Thanks a lot for this is thread its really working out...Thanks again.

Hi All,

We got our visa approval today :))))))

As I mentioned last week, we have been referred for a while now. I have a known medical condition, so took a specialist report to the medical. We had our medicals on 7th June. My children and husband all passed in June. Mine was referred 20th June and at the end of June they asked me a question regarding a drug that they thought I was on (but i'm not). I got this letter from my specialist mid July and have been waiting again since then. We have applied for a 175 and are from the UK. So......

Medicals - 7/6/12

Kids finalised: 14/6/12

Referred : 20/6/12

Additional info sent: 18/7/12

Finalised 13/8/12

I got the shock of my life this morning as it didnt say finalised - we had all changed to approved and had our visa grant too. If this helps at all - I also emailed my CO on Wednesday last week and asked if she had received everything she needs. She emailed me back Thurs to say yes and then we had our grant today. We are all so so pleased as we (mostly me) was worried about not getting the visa due to my medical condition (even though I am ok 90% of the time, it is a life long illness and I have had surgery a few times).

I will still sit on the macbook every night reading all the threads.... its part of my life now!

Melbourne here we come!!!!

Hi Aspire,

Predicting the finalization of the medicals is actually like shooting for the stars, as I mentioned before- GH is extremely busy with the downpour of people who have applied and referred to them as a result of the July 1 transition, so don't be too sad about this.

But based from my past experience I will share some of my personal technique to you:

1. Calling GH is also a game of luck and a test of your patience, but what I have noticed which I've also shared here before (but not sure if it's still applicable) the probability that someone in GH might answer you is by calling them through this timings: from 9am-10am, and 3:00pm-4:00pm (Sydney local time).

2. Email GH and your CO as well.

3. Ultimately, the finish line for all those who were refferred is a verdict - wether it is finalised, more info required, filling up health undertaking( which was our case), remember it is their mandate to deliver the results to each and everyone of us.

I am sure that you will receive yours soon...

Goodluck and cheers:wink:

Hi megawatts, could you tell me what a health undertaking is? and if it is not too personal what your medical was referred for? my daughter has just been referred which we expected as she has chronic fatigue syndrome, but trying to gage what the outcome will be? any info would help thanks wendy

Hi Rizzu,

First of all we welcome you to this thread. We were actually surprised when the medicals of my wife were referred to the Medical Officer of the Commonwealth (MOC), because as far as our medical records are concern we never encounter any major medical issues in the past or now.So to be totally honest with you 'till now we don't know the true reason for the health underaking..and on the other hand maybe their good doctor found some issues that needs some follow up and soft attention and they just want to be sure that it will not impose any harm to australian society through proper monitoring and medical attention, (details is specified in F815).

Hi Wendy Thorp,

Please see my reply to Rizzu regarding health undertaking.

With regards to CFS condition of your daughter sorry to hear that, but based from what I have read from forums and threads

Australia is mainly concern to diseases that might impose great risk to australian health (like TB, HiV, aids) and medical issues that might cause the country to spend considerable amount of money... From these two philosophies you can somehow assess were you stand now. If you dont fall to any of these, then chances are that GH will just ask you for a supplimentary documents( your doctor's letter guaranteeing that the health of your daughter is not a risk to both health and finances of australia).

Check with Benoli regarding this supplimentary docs, I am sure she is more than willing to give you some details...

Hoping to see you reach the finished line... goodluck
