Guest Aldo Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 just got the neighborhood news letter and apparently we have one of these lovely things slithering around our gardens note that it has NO legs yet it can move around, surly it is spawned from the devil himself
Guest Gollywobbler Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hi Aldo In a macabre sort of way, it is rather beautiful. Smashing colours. How big are they and are they poisonous? Cheers Gill
Quoll Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hi Aldo In a macabre sort of way, it is rather beautiful. Smashing colours. How big are they and are they poisonous? Cheers Gill Yup, deadly. Although there is an anti venom available. In warm weather they move pretty quick and you wouldnt want to stand on one basking in the sunshine. Up to 1.5 metres long apparently although the ones I have seen have been only about 1m.
Guest Rachel&Stu Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 He is beautiful. Wouldn't want him on the end of my bed though:wideeyed: Do they have these in Victoria? Cheers, Rache:wubclub:
Guest fatpom Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hi Aldo In a macabre sort of way, it is rather beautiful. Smashing colours. How big are they and are they poisonous? Cheers Gill They're said to be very docile and you have to do something like step on them to get them to bite. For some reason they find being stepped on threatening? They can also have yellow bellies (maybe other colours too?). They are a beautiful beast aren't they - quite common in the Sydney area. Had one living under a work bench where I worked, no-one told me about it until much later. Pity! I'd have loved to have seen it.
