  1. I haven't seen many visas granted recently on this thread! Anyone had any good news to share?
  2. It is a shame, but gives me hope that there is just a general delay - and not a problem with my individual application.
  3. Usually between around 18th and 25th of the month, they release the statistics for the visas processed in the previous calendar month. So I am expecting results for February to pop up around the end of next week/start of the following week. Very occasionally, they will skip a month, or be very late in updating the figures.
  4. It will be interesting to see the new waiting times in the next couple of weeks. I wonder if they will be markedly increased.
  5. Fridays, hey! Another week of waiting. Would anyone care to share their unusual ways of keeping the stress at bay? eg. I have been trying out yoga. Is there anything that you find helpful that others may not have considered?
  6. Yes, @Marcus De Witt Ryall, what you said was perfectly reasonable. I'm here for the people read this sort of thing, myself included, and subconsciously translate it as: as long as their case is straightforward, surely it will fall in the majority who are quick. This means people start to panic that a long wait means that there's something wrong - it's a cause of endless distress for visa applicants. So, I'm trying to highlight that you can have a perfectly straightforward case and still wait many months between nomination and visa. Just as @Hex said - expect the worst, hope for the best.
  7. @NickB89 Bear in mind there are plenty of cases where this is not true, ie. nomination and visa do not have similar wait times and are not granted together. I had previously been led to believe this was true also, but found out the hard way that's not how it works!
  8. So sorry to hear about this - what a horrible situation for you. I hope you can find a new sponsor
  9. With mine, the est wait time was more than a year. So if you get medical straight away, it will expire. Better to wait until you think it's less than a year til visa grant. Now all 186 wait times are less than a year, it makes sense to get a medical straight away.
  10. I think it is just bad luck that we are in the 10% of applications taking more than 6 months... nothing to be done but wait. The wait times back when I was applying were 15-18 months, so I keep telling myself 8 months or more isn't so bad!
  11. Have they provided a time frame for the maintenance? I googled it but didn't find anything.
  12. A 23rd December lodgement date means your application went in just as everyone at went off on xmas leave! The kids are back in school now so hopefully people are back from their annual leave, but I bet they are a couple of weeks behind since it's such a popular time for a holiday. I bet it'll come through in a few more weeks
  13. Recently 186 DE times have been decreasing, so let's hope it carries on that way
  14. I believe it's from Visa application date, so December. So I guess you would estimate May/June - but the wait times could have changed completely by then. eg. Last time I applied for a different visa, the wait time was 2 months when I applied, but each month it increased and eventually took 9 months to process.
  15. Yep, MA is dealing with it, but even 4 months after nomination is still considered fairly standard, so mine is not very unusual.
  16. I believe it means that, out of all the applications they finalised in the month of December, 90% of the total had been waiting 6 months or fewer, including 75% of the total who had been waiting 5 months or fewer. 10% had been waiting longer than 6 months (ie. 10% had applied during or before June 2019)
  17. Congratulations on the nomination approval! My advice would be to pretend it didn't happen... When my nomination was approved, I thought it meant my visa was on the way imminently. That was over 5 months ago and I've been stressed out about it ever since! Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones, and it'll come through soon But if it's slow, it's a rough wait!
