  1. Hey. This maybe a daft question so apologies in advance. If we apply in May and have the sponsor AFP and UK police check back in June (say 8th June) and the applicants UK police check and medical back on the same day (say 8th July) would first entry for visa validation be by June or July the following year??? Thanks
  2. If you have no children i believe to get a 100 the relationship must be over 3 years to go straight to 100. (I am sure a senior member can confirm) Therefore if you are only together nearly 3 years you wouldnt qualify is my understanding. The cost of the 100 is wrapped in the 309 application anyway and i believe you can do everything on a 309 you can on a 100...so unfortunatly it is just a bit more of a wait. Congrats on a 309 sucess though. Been a while since we had some approvals on here.
  3. Im sure this has been asked but cant find in the search. Once we submit our application and dont front load. A co is assigned then medicals and police checks are requested. How long after these are requested do you have to upload. I am just concerned that if we go travelling in the summer for 3-4 weeks and you only have a month from request we may miss it. Trying to ensure that doesnt happen. Thanks in advance
  4. The 309/100 is the same one you apply for if married. So timescales and costs above still apply. Sorry no way of avoiding the $7k ... i wish there was xox
  5. This you tube shows what they were talking about bringing in last July but didnt The assumption j am working to is it will happen this year. It explains the 2 step application. Hope this helps
  6. From what i found and it was pretty sparse ... your partner would need a pre-sponsor check to be done before you can even submit your application. It would be more than a police check but they havent given full details. It shouldnt take more than a month but will have a cost associated. If u are applying before June it will just be the normal partner check as part of the application which should just be police checks?? I will see if i can find the youtube which explained the changes for u
  7. Hey This is what i saw https://www.fastvisagroup.com/blog/applying-for-an-australian-partner-visa-in-2017-dont-delay This was delayed last year... but may come in this July. That is why i was trying to get to the bottom of if anyone knew if it was coming or not this year.... we will be applying before July to be sure. I guess we will know at the 11th hour! Best of luck with your application... let us know your stats when you apply Kx
  8. Didn't go through in the July rounds as was referred back to government. Looking likley in eithe Jan or next July from what i can gather. Hopefully July as that will make it a lot better timeline wise for us. Sent from my SM-A310F using PomsinOz mobile app
  9. Hi Snifter. That is fab and is exactly what we needed to know. Therefore the option to apply and validate the visa but move later is there..... now just to start scanning 7 years of our life together! Fun! Will be back in touch when i start the process and have stats, but for now loads of luck to all going through the process x
  10. Btw thanks for confirming it would be straight to 100.... i thought so but nice to know for sure Sent from my SM-A310F using PomsinOz mobile app
  11. It isn't if we would get one its how much extra and what extra we will have to submit to qualify. I am referring to the new "sponsorship requirement" we would have to complete before being able to lodge the 309/100. I am more concerned about how much they may charge for this new hoop.... hence why we are trying to apply before it comes in. It was deferred from this July but i fear it may come in with the January rounds so i am just trying to understand my options. Sent from my SM-A310F using PomsinOz mobile app
  12. Hi All, Long time stalker but new poster. My husband and I are looking to apply for the 309/100 to arrive in Oz in Sept/Oct 2019 - we are locked in on Mortgage and cars until then. However with all these new spouse rules in place we were wondering if it was worth applying before January to avoid the extra cost and hassle of the sponsorship checks. Therefore I wondered if my understanding was correct and could someone let me know either way: Could I apply in say December this year, thus avoiding the new rules, lets say I have medicals and police checks in January 2018 and am lucky enough to go straight to a 100 in February. Therefore i would need to enter before January 2019 . However could i literally arrive before this date, have my passport validated and then leave a few days later? If so would I then be able to move at the end of 2019 without any issue to the visa? Would this be different if i get a 309 grant instead of a 100? (I should go straight to a 100 as together 7 years, married 4 and have a son, can prove all this also, but i never say never!!) Thanks in advance for any help you can give. xox
