  1. Thank you you so much for your kind and supportive words. It's nice to be able to share the experience with other lovely people!
  2. Thank you for your advice - it's very good to know. I really appreciate it.
  3. Thank you @snifter, you are right. It's just hard when you see others progressing ahead of you. You wouldn't get a visa grant without a medical or police check though, would you?
  4. I didn't think there would be any problems. I thought it would be a pretty clear cut case, so I can't really explain it. The lady in the phone didn't give me any indication there was anything wrong. She didnt really give me much though. And yes, it's totally agonising.
  5. I am hoping it will be like that for us too. My husband has booked his medical for next week anyway, just so we have it done. And no, they didn't let me know who the CO was. I didnt want to push it, as I was worried about rocking the boat!
  6. Hi @Uhtred, yes, you got it right. We applied 21st August and have had no contact whatsoever. I called on Monday and was told we did have a case officer, and that no additional information was currently being requested (including the medical and police check). @koalakate applied 18th August and I think she’s had contact from her case officer, not sure if she’s had a request for medical yet though.
  7. Jervis Bay is gorgeous too. I have a friend who lives there. You lucky thing!
  8. Hi – we had some issues selling our house (two sales fell through post-Brexit), and once we got our third buyer it took 3 months for the sale to complete (even with no chain our end). Is there a good sales market in your area? We are off to Melbourne. It’s where I grew up, so I’ll be going home. Feels a bit strange to say after 13 years! Noosa is gorgeous - we will definitely be there for holidays! You will love living in paradise.
  9. Thank you @jacquiandpaul - I will keep you updated. I guess we're not in a huge hurry, as we wanted to get our daughter through her first year of school. We sold our house in November and are living with my in-laws with all our stuff in storage ready to go on the ship. Hopefully we'll all have good news very soon.
  10. @jacquiandpaul - nope, no contact at all. No change on our immi account either. I assume our application is straightforward, I am Australian, my husband is the applicant, he’s British. We’ve been together 12 years, married for 6, 2 kids (both Australian citizens by descent and have Australian passports). We applied on August 21st, online application from UK. I have to admit I was quite worried something was wrong with our application, as others were getting grants around the 5 month mark. But I wouldn't worry, others are getting emails and they've applied after us. @hayleykj - thank you! I guess it will take as long as it takes. I just need to stop worrying!
  11. Hi @carahunter4, do keep positive - there's been a lot of good news on the forum! You are right, we've not had a request for medical or police check yet. I got worried our application had fallen by the wayside, so I called them on Monday. They told me we did, in fact, have a case officer and that there were no documents outstanding, but that was it. It will be 5 months for us on Saturday, so my husband has booked his medical for next week. Even if we have to wait 14 months, we are in the 'safe zone' to activate the visa now, so we figured we'd just run with it. Hopefully it helps. It's a bit disconcerting that there are others getting approved in the time we've been waiting for contact, but, I guess that's our lot! I will keep you updated when we get any more news.
  12. I totally agree. I thought they dealt with them in order of date received, so I am not sure why our application (which I would have thought would be quite straightforward) still has not progressed. Here’s the link to where it tells you current processing times: http://uk.embassy.gov.au/lhlh/immi_processing_times.html
  13. Hi @hayleykj! I am Australian, my husband is the applicant, he’s British. We’ve been together 12 years, married 6, 2 kids (both Australian citizens by descent and have Australian passports). We applied on August 21st, online application from UK. The waiting is excruciating, but it’s not unreasonable as they do state 10-14 months processing on the site. It’s just hard when you see applications from just a few weeks earlier being granted within the time we’ve been waiting for the initial contact. Hopefully it wont be too much longer.
  14. LOL – I actually laughed out loud when I read your message. A very strange thing to mention on the phone – but nice to be prepared with some nicer underwear perhaps… It’s been almost 5 months for us now, and we’ve still not had any contact. I see that others have case officers having applied slightly after us. I hope the application is ok.
  15. Hi @koalakate! Happy new year! We've still not heard anything. Urgh. Will let you know when we do.
  16. Congratulations! Great news for Christmas! Hopefully we won't be far behind you. I hope it all goes really smoothly for you!
  17. Thank you @snifter - I know you're right. The waiting game is just so hard!
  18. I think we're in the same pile as you @koalakate... Still not heard anything. I will get my husband to give them another call - hopefully he wont be on hold for 45 minutes again... @ChimneyJ - CONGRATULATIONS! Amazing and very quick. I hope all the planning goes well.
  19. @koalakate, @carahunter4 & @snifter, thank you so much for your responses (and sorry for my delay writing back). We've still yet to hear . I was worried we'd not uploaded enough information. It might just be us not knowing much about the system, but I didn't think it was easy to understand what you should/shouldn't do. I know we'll get processed when it's our turn, but waiting for any kind of communication is excruciating . Probably best to focus all my energy on Christmas now. Whoop!
  20. Hi @koalakate & @carahunter4 - quick question (if you don't mind me asking), how much info/docs have you uploaded already? Just want to see if we've done the right thing. Thank you!
  21. Hi there! I've been watching this forum for a little while now and thought I should reply. My husband applied for his 309 visa on 21st August, and we are still waiting to hear anything. He did call after a couple of weeks and they said it was too soon to get a CO and we'd hear from them in time. Just over 11 weeks wait for us so far. We are hoping that it will be a pretty straight forward case, as I am Australian (moved to UK 12 years ago) and our children both have citizenship by decent and Australian passports already. We've been together for 11 years and married for 6. Fingers crossed for a CO soon. But, I think I agree with you @koalakate, Brexit may have had an impact...
