  2. Hi there. Quick question. Can you start your own business as soon as you enter Australia on subclass 176 visa? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi. I am in the same position. I am applying for a 309/100 visa. Heading to Goldcoast some time this year. I will need to enroll my children in to school. What visa is the 457? They are going as dependent on my visa. Will what you mentioned above be the same for me? Any info provided will be greatly received. Thank you.
  4. My info...if you can add me... Applied for 309/100 on 21/09/15. No other information whatsoever at the moment. 309 subclass partner visa lodged: 21/09/15
  5. Hope that times goes quickly for you. [emoji18] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. How long do you think till you will be there with him approx? My partner goes in a March. I processed my application in September and time frame is 10-14 months. I'm dreading him going! [emoji53] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I don't think he can? Migration agent said he would need a very good reason to return and this could jeopardise my visa application? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thank you for this information. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I have heard some schools you may not have to pay for?!? I am looking in to this. I believe it depends on some areas? Yes I was aware of their term times. Just thought it would still be fair to give my children their summer holiday time and time to adjust before enrolling them to a school? I'll keep researching. Thank you for your response. 11. Hi there. I lodged my application for a partner 309 subclass visa 21 September 2015 to include my two children. My partner already has his visa from a few years back before we met, but he didn't end up leaving the UK due to unforeseen circumstances. We then decided we would like to give living in Australia a go. My partners visa expires in March so he has therefore booked his flight as he needs to get out there before it expires. Leaving me here in the UK until the visa is granted for myself and my children. I am aware I can get a travel visa and stay in Australia until (hopefully) my visa is granted and I am aware I need to leave the country when it is granted. I am just not sure where I stand exactly with enrolling my children in to school? I was hoping to seek a travel visa for us in July/August when the children finish school for the summer holidays. I then was thinking I would not worry about enrolling them in to a school until September (could be a small chance of visa being granted then as it would be a year - the current processing time being 10-14 months). We will be going to the Queensland area and I wondered if anyone could give me any information as to whether it is possible to enroll my children in to school around that time if the visa has not been granted by then. As I am sure you can imagine...I am eager to get to Australia to be with my partner as soon as possible!! [emoji52] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yes I did think that too Jen44. I'm prepared to wait as long as it takes and if it is granted sooner than that is a bonus! [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hi there. I am new to this forum so please bare with me. I lodged my application for myself and my children and gave all requested paperwork on 21st September. So far I have not heard anything. I have gone through a migration agent and she has advised me that I will be assigned a CO around 10 months taking my visa around the 1 year mark to be granted. My partner's visa runs out in March (he had his granted years ago but due to certain circumstances didn't end up leaving for Oz when originally planned) but he has now just booked his one way flight for 3rd March. I am really hoping I will be able to get a travel visa to join him around July (when my children have finished school for the summer) and remain there until hopefully my visa will be granted around September time. It was very mixed emotions when he booked his ticket as it marks the start of a wonderful adventure together (hopefully) but as you can imagine it's going to be hard to say goodbye when the time comes!! Wishing everyone luck with their applications and congratulations to those who have just been granted. [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thank you. Sorry it took so long to reply. I'm still trying to work it all out! Lol. Thank you for the advice. All is fairly straight forward, no criminal record or medical issues. I chose to use a migration agent as my partner used them for his a few years ago and as I just thought any extra guidance would be good. I know every case seems to be different and I need to relax a little and wait to hear further. I am just eager to know when it is likely I will be able to join my partner. His visa runs out in March so he needs to get out to Australia by then and is looking to leave the UK around the end of February. It looking very unlikely that ill be joining before September!!! I will just have to enjoy a couple of long holidays there in the meantime!! :-) i understand if I go earlier on a tourist/working visa before mine and my children's visas are granted that I will need to leave the country for my visa to be granted and also my children will be classed as international students and schooling will need to be paid for? I may look in to this further as if it is something that may be possible it could be worth considering? I will take a look at the link you provided above to see what else could be useful. Thanks again.
  15. Hi there. I have just joined up to Poms in Oz as I recently (21/09/15) lodged my application for a partner sub class 309 visa and am interested to hear from anyone who is going through the same process. Looking on here I see some people were assigned a case officer within a month or two of their application being lodged. I contacted my migration agent to see when I may be assigned a case officer and I was informed that it would be around 10 months taking my visa being granted around the 1 year mark! How long have you all waited for to be assigned a case officer?
