  1. Happy birthday Bob. Have a good one!
  2. Thank you! Where did you go? My dad went for his 21st and had a great time too. They are doing a discount on the passes the now which is tempting
  3. I am but I'm not going to pass by July or August. Well I doubt it anyway and no that's not me being negative lol  that's me just organising my second one because I was in Germany then really ill for 2 weeks and haven't managed to catch up because of work. So I'm way behind but hopefully pass by winter
  4. Oh wow! That looks amazing. I would love to go to safari but I'm not sure about on my own. Where did she go? I looked at Kruger but I'd have to fly to Johannesburg and it doesn't a sound very safe especially for me being on my own but maybe it's rep is worse than it is itsuppose
  5. I've never really been completely sure about china although seeing pandas would be amazing! I love them. A manager just told me I should be allowed 3 weeks off so I want to go somewhere to see as much as I can
  6. I was looking at that! Being a non driver I think that would be easiest option. Did you do the hop on/off or the set time one? I think there was one for 8 days but I imagine it's very rushed
  7. I'd like to see Peru one day! I wanted to go further than Europe but I bet that's where I'll end up lol. Would still be a cool trip though, I've wanted to do that since I was 21 but just never got around to it. Story of my life haha. I keep looking on skyscanner for ideas on where is cheap on those months but then I need to be careful with weather for a few of them. I found a flight to Vancouver for £500 which I thought was pretty good
  8. Looking at booking my holiday this year but haven't a clue where to go. I'm thinking more of a bucket list type holiday rather than Spain. I really like wildlife so I've been looking at Canada (BC) for ages because I could see bears and maybe whale watching. But I'm not sure how good it would be without a car, I know Vancouver is fine without one but not sure about outside there. That was my problem in Australia a lot of the time. Anyone got any ideas? It has to be between June and August unless I don't get into college this year. If I forget the wildlife side of the holiday then my other option was maybe do a interrail Europe trip
  9. My service user keeps buying it but then doesn't use it or just uses a little. The rest of the workers aren't that great with use by dates so I'm always chucking it out if I know it's over the few days limit. I don't know wether it does do anything if you eat it but I wouldn't risk it, at least not at work. I've used a few things at home that's out of date but not meat
  10. My east coast travel mate was snobby about Scotland mostly as a joke to wind me up. He's from the south of England at a posh bit. He found out the prices of houses in Scotland compared to where he lives. I think he wanted to move up lol. The cheapest he could get is 150k and i think that's a one bedroom flat
  11. I don't remember seeing any offensive slogans but I've heard they aren't the best company to deal with
  12. Yeah he said one year post qualifying experience. My other option is nursing but I like my type of job so might have been a good option. I applied for the access to nursing course and I've applied for the course that gets me into the HNC the following year. So I guess I'll see what happens. If I studied when i first ever thought of it years ago, I would probably have a visa by now haha.
  13. I think it's 3421-15. I ended up messaging a migration agent after I never got a response. They said NVQ/SVQ 3 isn't enough so I need to study and get a HNC to be eligible for the SS. I've found one or 2 companies that sponsor people but more down the youth worker type route but id need the HNC for that too to be equivalent of the Australia diploma
  14. I heard about this, Poor woman. I got a few weird messages on Facebook. One guy phoned me from SA and I just got a really weird feeling about him. It sounded like he was looking for a girlfriend than a worker. I posted about him on a group and it turned out he hadn't phoned my friend and a few other girls. We all got the same feeling about him, which can't be a coincidence. I hope nobody went to him. He didn't say anything that would get him into trouble. Well other than saying there's ways of getting around visa rules. That was my main fear about farm work, going to a remote area and being stuck with some bloke and I can't drive away
  15. The people I mean came from a massive city so I was really surprised. I'm the little village girl that everyone probably thought would come back within a few weeks lol. But they spent their last week doing all the touristy stuff that they wanted so as long as they had a good time, that's the main thing. One of them had booked a really expensive east coast trip and another trip and didn't get the money back. I could have cried at the wasted money even though it wasn't me  ive never been to Asia but I would think you were right with some of them compared to Australia. It's a shame that the OP didn't have a good experience of the hostels. I definitely couldn't have put up with the hostel in northbridge that I mentioned. One night was enough, the bathrooms and rooms were disgusting. And I had been free camping just before that! So that probably says a lot lol
  16. I was over on a WHV and used a lot of hostels. I was lucky - other than one really manky one they were all pretty clean. I stayed the night in that one then moved, I'm not sure why anybody ever uses that one because it's not even cheap. Hostels are definitely expensive. I did experience a cockroach in another hostel but I think it was just bad luck because it was a fairly clean hostel. With job hunting I think it depends what you're looking for. At least you tried it, some people like it and some people don't. I know 2 girls that lasted 2 weeks but had decided they were leaving within the first week.
  17. Wish I could come! Have fun guys
  18. I think I'm going to stop reading this thread, twitter and watching the news. He's just scaring me. I think I'll move back to Herm island, back to the little bubble
  19. All the little country towns that I'd heard of had problems with drugs like that. Then it was the same when I went to work in the outback. Although to be fair quite a few of the people had been clean of it for quite a few years
  20. someone told me that Perth counts as regional for the visas but I could be wrong. Only time I spent in bunbury was passing through on bus. Mandurah is nice and so is Margaret river. I think I could definitely live in Margaret river but I'm guessing the work side would be hard depending on the job
  21. Hi! I recently noticed this route on the list. My current job matches quite a lot of the job description but I work in people's homes. I've been looking at residential units this year though. Can someone explain the route to me - what I'd need etc? I noticed that Tasmania and NT are the ones state sponsoring but I'm unsure what qualifications and other things are required. Its probably not likely but it's just something I wanted to enquire about. Thanks
  22. Gumtree is one of the most common. There's also some links in this forum. There's another one called travellers at work
  23. In Scotland we never prepare the roads for snow then end up getting caught out. In England they have 2 flakes of snow and the media freaks it lol. God help us if we got snow like Canada or america
