  1. Yes it looks difficult for you. Will your points for age increase or decrease anytime soon ?
  2. What's your points breakdown with no experience ?
  3. I basically became an affiliate and member at the same time (last August) as I had already fulfilled my experience requirements. You can only claim experience from full member status unless you have another degree - which doesn't need to be related.
  4. I used CPA last August and my ACCA membership with no other degree was sufficient.
  5. Would your manager do it coming from them personally rather than in an official capacity on company paper ?
  6. http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/become-a-cpa/migration-assessment/skilled-employment-assessment Check the paragraph "Statutory Declarations" Many people will find themselves in your position (those who do not want their employers to know they are looking into emigrating) so are unable to obtain anything from their employer
  7. I did read it correctly. I'm definitely not trampling on anyones dreams, the exact opposite infact. Dolly4u5 was disappointed you had to wait 12 months with 70+5 and they only have 55+5. All I was saying was that your long wait was because your occupation wasn't on the list when you lodged your EOI. I would have thought that would have raised Dollys hopes as there was an explanation for your long wait ?
  8. Very true however someone's circumstances can change very quickly. I am sure there will be people who use the fact they have emigrated to hide from liabilities however there will also be those who's circumstances have genuinely changed and cannot pay it back. I wouldn't class that as theft or dishonesty.
  9. Probably not if you genuinely can't pay it back.
  10. Yes you can submit and EOI with 75 points and if by the time you get an invite you receive word from CPA that you don't have 75 points you can let it expire. It's DIBP you have to convince your experience warrants the points but obviously having confirmation from CPA would help your case. Instead of submitting an EOI with 75 points could you submit one with 70 (err on side of caution) so you are in the queue then if CPA come back with 75 you can update your EOI and jump to the front of the queue. I'm sure any agent would advise you against submitting an EOI without word from CPA but that's a decision only you can make..... I wouldn't worry about post brexit increases - you know how long the process takes. Anyone looking into it now will not be in a position to submit an EOI for some time.
  11. I did 2 separate EOIs - if you get an invite under 190 your 189 is blocked if you do them both under 1 EOI. With 75 however you will get a 189 invite immediately so you're probably aswell just doing them both in the same EOI. Did you hear back from CPA about your experience ? If your SMP doesn't count then you'd probably need to input separate periods of employment even though it's the same employer. Mark your periods of SMP as non relevant as you won't then gain any points for them.
  12. Doing what he did ensured we can take time to reflect on the result and plan the next step carefully. If he had stayed on the pressure to trigger article 50 would have been immediate.
  13. A real kick in the teeth after giving many some hope for the next year.
  14. DIBP set ceilings for occupations based on estimated demand in that occupation (usually 5% of total demand) Accountants ceiling however has been set at a lower 2.5% of total demand....
  15. Ceiling for Accountants has been increased to 4777 for the 16/17 year. Great news for those starting out in their journey.... External auditor ceiling also increased.
  16. I don't think the majority of SNP supporters are that clever ? *takes cover*
  17. Knowing HMRC the reason may well have something to do with their lack of investment in certain areas - with this being an obvious candidate when they can just point the end user to other options. I believe some of the cheaper software allows more than 1 individual to file their return so you nay only need 1 program ?
  18. If that's the case there will be a long wait even for those with 70 points. NSW should give those with high English scores more hope though. Was reading an artical the other day saying 25k more accountants will be needed by end of decade. I guess lowering the quota ensures only higher quality candidates get visas instead of those who don't even end up working in the industry.
  19. Hadn't noticed the results of the last 189 draw are out and they invited the remaining quota for accountants meaning it's a wait until July now.
  20. I like your idea of a quick move. My 10 months between visa grant and flight is going to be a lllllloooooonnngggg wait........
  21. Just noticed you got your grant this week - sorry must have missed that Congratulations !! When are you planning on moving ?
