I've already got the tourist visa, I checked my immi account and the partner visa is still processing so it hasn't been cancelled. I just find it incredible that it's been over a month since I applied and I've still not got a CO assigned to my application. It looks like the 10-14 month mark is true.

I've still not been assigned a CO, I'm flying to Australia on Tuesday. Do I have to contact the department to inform them I have a tourist visa or should I just wait till I get a CO?

I've still not been assigned a case officer, I really don't understand why it takes so long to process the application if the applicant is from a low risk country.

Great news! Did you go on an Evisitor visa? If so did you leave Australia after 3 months and go back? Did you get asked any questions at customs about having a return ticket? Thanks.

Can I get the medical done in Australia even though I've applied offshore? I'll be going on an Evisitor visa in August, I've not been asked to do my medical yet so should I wait or just do it before I leave?

I agree, the fact they take 9 - 12 months to process the application is unreasonable considering how expensive it is.

I'm confused with a few things that are required on the document checklist. I've applied online so when I attach the two recent passport-sized photographs of myself how would I include my name written on the back? Also, we have both done our personal statements as word documents that include details of our relationship, how it developed and our future plans. Do these need to be certified?

The TRN number is what links the 40SP form with your application, he can create his own immi account and complete the 40SP application including the TRN number from your application.

He will need to do the 40SP form online, you can find it on the immi.gov.au website but I think it's down for maintenance at the moment. He has to include the Transaction Reference Number from your 47SP application.

I've just completed my application and paid the fee. I'm in the process of attaching documents for my application online, is it required that I provide evidence for everything on the document checklist?

What tourist visa did you get? Can you fly to New Zealand and return to Australia after a few days if you want too?

Hi all I'm so glad I've found this page! I want to get my application lodged before July because the cost will increase. I'll be applying in the UK and I've just received my police checks (UK & Australian) in the post and I have the required documents for the application. I want to know if it's worth getting my medicals done now or wait till I've been appointed a CO? Also, I want to know if I lodge the application online do I just scan the documents or will I have to post them to the Australian High Commission in London? Furthermore, I'm considering lodging the application and then applying for a tourist visa that will allow me to visit Australia. Has anyone applied for the partner visa and then visited Australia? It would be great if I could receive tips/feedback and general information from anyone who has experience. Thanks James
