  1. Thanks very much! Thank god I found this forum, I don't know how I would have got through all the waiting without it! Hope it's not so long for you guys
  2. finally got the best news of my life got granted the 100 today!!! 9 months and 4 weeks. Cannot wait to see my husband, planning on the big move mid November, just got to give my notice at work eeeeekkkkk feels real now!
  3. that's awesome! So exciting to be there just in time for Christmas! I shouldn't be too far behind you hopefully
  4. congratulations! I think we all need a medal for our patience during this process! Did they give any further indication of what these 'it issues' were?!
  5. Hi, I am the uk applicant and was requested by my co to do both a uk and Aus police check as I had lived there in the past 10 years. If your co hasn't specifically asked for it, I don't see the point in paying for the extra Aus one just in case.
  6. hi, welcome to the forum! You just click on 'settings' and then 'edit signature'
  7. finally! Ah brilliant news for you! Do you think it helped emailing your CO to give them a nudge?
  8. we applied on 28/11/14 and still waiting too. It gets worse the closer it gets, especially when you see that some visas were processed at 8 months 2 weeks!
  9. apparently your co will email you to say you will get your grant and if you are in Aus you have to leave the country for 3 working days and then come back in to activate it. On here alot of people seem to go to Bali and New Zealand
  10. This list is awesome, quite exciting when you move up the ladder a bit more!
  11. Have you been to Australia before? You may want to try a working holiday visa, think it's 18-30 but someone correct me if I'm wrong on the age bracket
  12. Hi I would recommend a backpackers to start with, usually no need to book but if you can do it before hand even better. Most backpackers also offer reduced rates for staying a week at a time. In the city I stayed at Kings street backpackers, which is really near the train station and I also stayed at coffee palace in St kilda- must have liked that one as I stayed for a month and a half! Both were really good value and great way to meet other backpackers
  13. Hi, I think you may find it hard to collect all the documents required for the partner visa if you haven't got evidence of living together 12 months prior to lodging your application. I was in a similar situation to you in 2011 and I applied for the partner visa but it got rejected after waiting a year processing time because I couldn't provide the evidence required. If you do plan to get married the pmv is your best bet and whilst your waiting you could go to Aus on a visitor visa, although you wouldn't be able to work. It's a lot of money to lose if your not 100% confident you meet the criteria

  15. Hi, has anyone else received their visa approval? ( maybe from the London office)? I'm almost at the 8 month waiting mark and I'm already getting really impatient and checking this forum more times than I care to admit! I heard on here that immi may have granted a batch of visas following the 1st July so I was hoping to read some good news on here! If you have got your visas please share on here and give the rest of us some hope....waiting is seriously a killer!!! Helps a bit to see others in similar situation
