  1. I have just done the multiple choice medical questionnaire and printer my referral letter. One thing I have noticed is that the Visa Type section says BC 100 Spouse (Permanent). Am I reading too much into it or have the department indicated that they are looking at my visa going straight to PR?
  2. Great news. And good that you got it at the lower end of the estimate. What is your visa based on, defacto or marriage? We have been married for Two years and living together in total for 4, and we have a son, so we are hoping to go straight to 100 too.
  3. Agreed, I don't think you have anything to worry about wowzer. As long as your online status is "Application in Progress " and your documents status is "Received ", it's all good.
  4. Also, I called the medical centre to book an appointment for September and I was told to call back in August.
  5. I did email them through the website and the CO contacted me the same day I got a reply from the general office. But I'm not sure if it was connected. I understand your position though. I I must say that I have found them to be very courteous and professional.
  6. And so you should wait, the rest of us are too, ha ha. I'm probably the least patient person and this requires a lot of it and I'm struggling too  Seriously though, I got the auto email instantly, and I had to wait six weeks before a CO got in touch. There were no contact details except for the generic email inbox and the CO only stated their first name. They asked for one more document, I got a date for meds and PCC and that was it. I'm more relaxed about it now though.... now that I know how they operate. They are a very understaffed team so I'm happy to let them get on with it now. Good of luck with your application. Keep us posted on your progress.
  7. Drew, sorry I can't help, we are not in Australia yet but i would advise you to post in the Money & Finance forum.
  8. Literally 5 minutes after I posted the above, I got an email from my CO. So I've updated my vitals in the signature below. I should also say that the letter states at least 10 to 14 months processing time as opposed to the 9 to 12 on my auto generated acknowledgement email.
  9. It has been over 6 weeks since we applied and I've not heard anything except the initial auto generated email, so I sent a request to the department for an update. The reply was nice enough, and received in very good time, but essentially said 'your case officer will be in touch when they are ready'. Fair enough, I just need some patience :-) I'm a wee bit jealous of those who applied around the same time that have heard from a CO, though.
  10. Mobile phone and iPad access is just not configured correctly yet, but on the PC is a big improvement.
  11. I'm way too early in the process to offer some advice, but I will say I like this new set up. My application says 'Assessment in Progress' but my wife's form (sponsor) still says submitted. I'm taking that to mean they have actually looked at it as opposed to automatically filed it in the queue. I may be wrong though. Incidentally all of our attachments still say 'Received'.
  12. Good news. Keep yourself busy doing other things. We are looking to declutter next week and I'm doing some essential work to the house at the same time. The months will fly past and hopefully we'll be in a stron position to sell. Then there's bringing up the wee one too, but that doesn't take much attention does it, ha ha I look forward to your updates considering you are six days ahead of us.
  13. Hi We dropped dozens of pictures and their descriptions into a word document and saved it as a PDF. We kept it to the file size limit so this way we got loads more pictures in there than we'd have done if we had left them at their original size and uploaded them separately. We did the same for facebook screen shots. Regarding the the amount of files, I didn't see anything official, but guidance on here was up to 60 documents. So combining dozens of pictures into one is the way to go. We ended up with 43 files uploaded.
  14. If you're able to actually make the move earlier then I would seriously think about it, but I suspect my family would not move out earlier than planned. But that's my situation. I'd take the risk. It's your decision though.
  15. Great news. Congratulations mate. Did you apply online? If so how often did the 'Last Updated' section change in your application summary page? Was it only when they sent you correspondence or when they were working on your case?
  16. If you read the notes in the online application it states which ones need to be certified. Stat decs are one of those and passports and birth certificates are others. I'd prefer to follow the guidance notes in the system but it's up to you how you go about it. I'm Sure some have been accepted in the past without certification though.
  17. We have indeed. My wife travelled to the Embassy a few weeks ago for the 'interview' that lasted all of ten minutes! It was a three day trip due to flight times from Scotland, Cameron's routine and the time of the interview itself!! The passport arrived within a week which was good.
  18. Yes you do need to do it all online. But I can assure you it is so much easier this way. It keeps everything together and you can see everything you've done at a glance. The first thing we did was go out and buy a decent printer/scanner/copier. It has paid for itself during this process no problem. In terms of the certified docs, we did scan, print, certify and scan again. Easy with the new machine.
  19. No Melibios, we haven't heard anything other than the acknowledgment email, so not to worry. I'm quite an impatient person so not ideal for me, but we have a 6 month old to take our mind off things.
  20. Hi we have not long submitted online, after spending some weeks filling in forms on paper. It was so much easier online and it is simple to track your progress while you compile your application. You only submit when you are happy with your form and when you have all of your evidence ready to upload. It will prompt and guide you to upload your documents afterwards. It is very easy to navigate, just follow the online checklist after you submit the form. You have about a fortnight to upload everything. Regarding the stat decs, we got 6 of the 888 forms from Oz folks but it only asks for 2 so I'm sure 3 Stat Decs will be enough. For the UK ones, we got a standard UK stat dec form, changed it slightly and got some friends to sign with a countersigned by police officers and a pharmacist. Your passports, birth certs, etc should be certified. We got the local councillor to sign. He did it for free. Our solicitor would have charged. Hope that helps.
  21. You bet it does!!! I'm sure I was 21 last year, now I'm turning 40 ha ha!!
  22. Hopefully I will get all my documents uploaded by the end of this week and I will get some contact with my CO so I can let you know.
  23. im not too experienced here but it must be related to the amount of applications received at that time. The fact that the time has come down now is most probably due to the drop off in numbers of applications following the surge just before the price hike. If I get my visa in 12 months, that will do me just fine.
