  1. Not sure about just a glass - some days feels more like the need for a bottle or case!!
  2. We opened our NAB account from the UK and then activated when over there last month, all so much simpler than opening a UK bank account.
  3. Hi The HAP ID is the number that IMMI give each applicant so that the medicals can be booked and completed, none of the Companies that do the medicals will even book it without you having this number to give them. IMMI used to supply it on the acknowledgement letters but it now looks like we have to wait for them to issue them nearer the time that they are ready to assess our applications; which is good in so far as the medicals and police checks only have a one year life to them. Hope this helps. Best of luck Steve
  4. Hi We lodged our 143 application on 1 July 2014 and have been told that we should have our Medicais around 16-18 months from lodgement, however IMMI have not yet given us our HAP numbers so we just have to wait on them. Patience is vital in the 143 waiting room! Good luck. Steve
  5. I'm sure everyone will agree that you're most welcome and that we all feel the same about the support we try and give each other. Once your visa is granted we'd all like to see updates on your progress in settling in Australia. All the best Steve
  6. Hope you'll invite visitors from Perth (if we live long enough to get there!)
  7. I don't think they possess one but you can't blame a bloke for hoping!!
  8. Hi Thanks for this, I can't find that information, could you provide the link please? Cheers Steve
  9. That's all rather worrying and annoying for you - I really hope it works out quickly for you!!
  10. Hi You need a HAP number from Perth immigration before the Medicals can be done, the clinics will not book the Medicals without this number. A lot of us who lodged the middle of 2014 do not have our HAP numbers as they are not given on our acknowledgments. Best of luck Steve
  11. It's all rather strange and intriguing! We're in a similar position; off to Perth next week and when we get back intend to go on the market - daunting indeed! Regards Steve
  12. Hi all Just tried the "Test" email again and guess what - the 143/173 is showing again now. It says:- "OFFSHORE APPLICANTS (subclass 143/173) We are currently assessing for finalization applications lodged on 23 August 2013" So we exist again!! Hooray! Have a good weekend. Steve
  13. Hi Julie I can't find any figures for 2015/6 yet - can you? Regards Steve
  14. Hi Val Hope you've had feedback by now?! Like the "de nile" quip. We've not told any of our family in the UK as yet but expect the same response - except the mother-in-law who will be glad to see the back of me! Take care Steve
  15. Hi Julie Yes I got that one. The auto reply ignoring our 143 applications is getting tiresome!! At least as far as I know our application charges are fixed at the rate set when we lodged. Bored waiting Steve
  16. Hi Sadge The test email is what we are advised to send to get general updates from immigration about the latest status of processing the various parent visa subclasses. On your acknowledgement they advise all applicants for parent visas to send a "Test" email to their email address parents@immi.gov.au we are told to put "Test" in the subject line and nothing in the body of the email. The idea is that this then triggers an automatic reply that gives the updates; however this auto reply doesn't always happen and the replies of late don't even mention the 143 visa at all. Hope this helps. Regards Steve
  17. Hi Yes the bond, otherwise known as the Assurance of Support (AOS), is indeed $10,000Aud for a single applicant and is repaid after 10 years as long as the applicant hasn't claimed any benefits in Australia Whilst the AOS is held it does earn interest. Hope this helps. Steve
  18. Wouldn't it be nice if they update the auto reply and kept us informed at the same time - oops dreaming again!!
