  1. Sorry to hear that Coxy, hopefully next week for you mate. Its been very quite for grants this week. I had hoped to see a few going through.
  2. Maybe!? I guess this will dictate which day of the week a specific CO grants the visa?
  3. I hope it comes through soon for you. :-). I'm not sure if this applies to all CO's, but mine told me some time ago that he only works on spouse visas on a Thursday and Friday, and that the remainder of his time is spent processing other visa categories. Does this apply to anyone else's CO?
  4. Haha! Your not alone, yours should be very, very soon though, and mine shouldn't be long after.
  5. Looks as though we're getting close to the end of the January applications. Hopefully we will see more by the end of the week :-). Anyone else waiting for the February grants to come through?
  6. I agree! The advice in the Partner Migration Booklet refers to applicants who hold a Subclass 309 (Provisional) Partner Visa and they can be in Australia at the time a decision is made on the second stage (Subclass 100) visa. However, if you are not the holder of a Subclass 309 visa and you have made a combined application for a Subclass 309/100 Partner Visa from outside of Australia, it is a legal requirement that you are outside of Australia in the event you are granted a visa.
  7. Woohoo, Congrats :-) how long was your wait Sarah? I'm glad to see jan applications going through :-)
  8. Ours was the 27th of Feb, so when i see you get your grant, i can start getting excited. :-)
  9. I can't wait either, we submitted our application in February, so we're just waiting to see January applications being approved. We're just about 7 months in, not long now (hopefully). :-)
  10. Thats strange, Sandy! How come you have to wait if they have told you its granted?
  11. Yeah i think there's a benefit from going with companies like skill360, just for the reason you have stated. I think thats the way i will try to find work when the time comes. As i said above theres a company called Torgas and another called Migas. Hopefully one of the three will be able to help me. :-)
  12. Thanks! Thats just what i wanted to hear :-). Hopefully it won't take me too long to get an apprenticeship, i'm really looking forward to leaving the stress of the office and having more time to spend with my family. I did used to be a tradesman, it been a while but i'm looking forward to doing something hands on and practical again :-). Can't wait!! Thanks flybyknight.
  13. I'm sure everyone understands that their CO must be very busy, but in Pete's case it sounds as though he has been treated badly, to the point that he is actually worried that his CO has a problem with him. I just think that's unacceptable.
  14. Hi Pete! I can only speak from my own experience. As you say it probably has a lot to do with the CO, but i'm certain that they wouldn't have a "down on you" just because you contacted them. You've still paid a substantial fee to start the application process, and personally i would still expect a certain level of service from the department. Internally i would also guess that the case officers are audited in some way, with respect to their performance? I could be wrong but thats just my opinion, and i certainly wouldn't be spoken down to by some minion from the immigration department. If you have concerns that you have been treated badly, and you have worries that you getting in touch with your CO will cause delay or some other problem with your application i would suggest you make a formal complaint. Theres some info on this site - http://migrationalliance.com.au/home/complain-about-a-diac-officer.html.
