  1. 13 months is such a long time. That must be dreadful! I am lucky that my wife is here with me, but a ten month wait will make things really difficult for me as I have 2 weeks in Melbourne at the start of Jan. I will do the gentle email next week and wish for the best... We can only hope...
  2. Congratulations! Wow - that is one of the longest processing times I have seen! I'm happy that it is working within your travel timescales. Good luck with the move!
  3. I feel like I am checking my emails every two minutes. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!
  4. I hope you get a brilliant birthday surprise tomorrow! Fingers crossed it is not long now...
  5. It is so good to hear about people's grants! Congratulations. I am 5 days away from the 8 month point. I think the waiting up to now has been a pain, but just a nagging thing at the back of my head. I can imagine that passing the 8 month point will mean it becomes all consuming! Fingers crossed for all of the March applicants who are still waiting!
  6. We are all within a couple of weeks. My application went in on the 8th April. Let's hope that is a lucky week!
  7. I have RN. I am hoping for December too as I am going to Melbourne for 2 weeks from the 28th Dec. It would be great to be able to validate on that trip. I'm finding it interesting how the email to CO seems to work in waves. Two weeks ago it seemed everyone who emailed got their grant immediately, but now it is back to the 9 month mark. My travel dates are so awkward that if I need to leave the country for 3 days for the grant I could well miss the wedding.... oops.
  8. Hi Chloe, My application is one week older than yours - I think I will be watching for your updates like a hawk! Good Luck!
  9. Great to see so many grants coming through. Seeing other people's good news really helps with my own wait. But the waiting is a drag... 4 weeks to my 8 month point and counting...
  10. Quick question to those that have recently been granted following an email to their CO. What exactly did you put in the email? I have let mine know (a few months ago) that I am due to go over on a tourist visa for a wedding jut before the 9 month point. I haven't tried to contact them since (to avoid becoming an annoyance). It seems that a gentle reminder email has been paying off for folks on here and was interested on what the wording of those emails was...
  11. I reckon those will be the longest 3 days of the 8 months! Fingers crossed that you get it bang on time.
  12. BRILLIANT!!! Congratulations! Seeing people get grants on here really makes the wait easier. Just over 6 weeks to my 8 month point.....
  13. It took about 8 weeks for acknowledgement for me. I applied in April. The money was taken straight away (we paid via credit card) but we heard nothing until our CO was assigned. They'll have cashed the cheque sharpish I would think, so when that money leaves your account you will know you are all good.
  14. Hi All, My wife is Australian and has a property that she rents out in Sydney. We live in the UK. Each year she files her tax return through an accountant she has had for a while. The problem is that this guy is not great (and his customer service leaves a lot to be desired). Does anyone have a recommendation of an accountant in Oz that we could engage with from the UK to work through my wife's tax returns? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  15. It is so good reading about people getting their grants! Congrats everyone! I'm an April submission so fingers crossed for a December grant...
  16. Great News! Congratulations! Seems to be stretching past the 9 month mark again and again.
  17. Hi There, I used the email rather than the link with the form, but it was using the CO's email address (which I will DM you) that actually worked.
  18. Hi, I am in exactly the same position as you. I am visiting friends for a couple of weeks for a wedding, but this is right at the 9 month mark. I have done the following: I emailed the general email address (my letter was similar to yours) and I got a general reply that didn't really answer my questions. I then emailed my case officer directly (after I was given the formula for their email on here). She (RN) replied giving me more detail but not really easing the situation (my 8 month is in Dec, my 9 month in Jan - she basically advised that I be ready to leave the country if she contacts me). I have booked my flights to Oz and have put enough money to one side to get me to New Zealand should I get the email when I am there. This is infinitely better than getting home before it is granted and having to go back to validate.... I am hoping that by letting my CO know the circumstances she may employ some common sense and be nice by doing a grant at 8 months.... we shall see. The short version is "I feel your pain!"
