  1. Hi! How's everything with you? Is your new AITSL application in? We have uploaded everything so just waiting for a decision now! Very scary!!! Yes this whole ACECQA thing is doing my head in, think I'm just going to have to pay the money to get assessed and see what they come back with. I did randomly find a 1 year course in Perth for primary teachers wanting to retrain in Early Years but it was about £7000 dollars!!!!!!! Definitely won't be able to afford that when I move over. I also saw on another thread through google that ACECQA had told someone they could do two relevant units to cover the theory side of things but I don't know if you can go to a Uni and request to do just 2 units???? Fed up!! X
  2. So we are entering into a new week....... Fingers crossed some of us get grants very soon. Good luck everyone! Keep us all posted x
  3. Hi, We had contact from our CO on 21/10/15 requesting form 80, Pcc's and medicals. Form 80 and PCCs have been uploaded. We had our medicals done on 7/11/15 Our son and daughters were uploaded there and then. Myself and my husband were told it would take 7-10 days but likely to be quicker. Have checked immi account everyday since and it still says a panel clinic is reviewing our case. I called the medical centre on Wednesday (18/11/15) was told everything was complete and fine they were just waiting for a doctor to sign off and upload. I explained our urgency and was told it would be dealt with. Still nothing!! Called again today got told the doctor that did the medicals was a locum and they would get it touch with him to make sure he uploaded today. STILL NOTHING!! Tried to call doctors surgery back from 4pm (they close at 6) no answer it just rings and then goes to voicemail!! My 28 day deadline is up today, what shall I do? Shall I call our CO (Brisbane team) as emails take at least 7 days. thanks, Selina
  4. All together my husband had spent 9 months in Australia and our CO asked for a PCC for him. It's cheaper and easier than the UK one and my Australia one came before my UK one even though I applied on the same day. Might be worth just doing it xx
  5. The doctors that we used for the medicals are taking ages to upload them!! Day 10 today so called them, they said all the tests have come back and everything is fine they just need to get a doctor to sign it off. It should be done by the end of the week!!! Really not happy!! X
  6. If your 3 year degree gives you QTS you may be able to do a masters instead. To register as a teacher you will need 45 days supervised teaching practice which your degree may not give but a PGCE will. In Australia with your degree you could be an Early Years Educator in private daycare, this seems similar to a room leader position that you would have in the UK. There's a really good thread in the jobs and careers section of the forum called 'Teachers in Oz' there's lots of information on there from people who have been through the process of registering as a teacher and are now working over there. It's really worth checking out and there are much more knowledgeable people than me on there.
  7. Hi, i have just logged into my immi account and the following message has been put up to do with system maintenance: Please see information below for issues currently impacting some users: SYSTEM MAINTENANCE – 20-21 NOVEMBER 2015 There will be an outage of our systems for a number of improvements from 9pm Friday 20 November 2015 until 3pm Saturday 21 November AEDT (GMT +11). This will include changes to questions in our online application forms. We recommend that you complete and submit any applications that you have started, before the outage. Applications that have a status of ‘Ready to submit’ or ‘Awaiting documents’ at 9pm on 20 November will be changed to ‘Incomplete’, as you may be required to answer additional questions to submit a valid application. It doesn't sound good that there may be extra questions to answer if the application has not been submitted before this date, so get everything submitted if you can!
  8. To be any sort of teacher in Australia you need 4 years at university. To work in preschool you need to do a PGCE specifically in Early Years. To be registered with ACECQA as an Early Childhood Teacher you also need experience with children age 0-2 that is theory and practice. This is hard for UK teachers as the PGCE covers the age range 3-7. If you are the main applicant for migration you will need your qualifications accessed by AITSL then you need to register with the Queensland teaching board and ACECQA. There's a lot of form filling and box ticking involved!
  9. Oh no, bet you would have had a direct grant by now if you didn't have to do all that. It shouldn't be much longer if all of your documents are now uploaded x
  10. The waiting is the worst thing!! Fingers crossed you hear something very soon, did you front load everything or did the CO ask you for more documents? X
  11. I think on the EOI I put all of my employment as not relevant because I wasn't claiming points. On the actual application for the visa it asks you again and this time I ticked yes for the one job that was relevant because it doesn't mention points xc
  12. Hi Kirstyj, We had our medicals on Saturday so just waiting for the clinic to upload everything. Form 80 and all police checks have been put onto application eeeeekkkkkkk really hoping for a decision before Christmas. Xx
  13. Well done on your visa grant Mrsflip, that's strange with your entry date! Keep us posted with what your CO says xx
  14. Fantastic news countryboy and apra!! Good luck twosocks, I hope your feeling is right and you get the grant this week xx
  15. I have applied for myself and my family independently. If you have a straightforward application it is doable, just make sure you can back up your claim for points with all of the correct paperwork. You do need to go through everything with a fine toothed comb, the visa fee is a lot of money to lose over not filling things in correctly. If you go for an agent you have their experience to see you through. It was an expense we couldn't afford and so far, so good for us xx
  16. It is very expensive, the cheapest I found was Spire Hospital in Manchester. I then called my local registered medical centres to see if they would price match and one of them said yes. If they had said no it would have been cheaper for us to travel to Manchester (we are in Birmingham) x
  17. For form 80 you need to put all of your school history so if you are in the UK this starts at age 4/5 xx
  18. Wow fantastic update! Thanks for posting! Getting excited for our visa grant and our move over. Good luck with everything xx
  19. Did you know you can get an extra 10kg of luggage allowance each as a migrating family with Singapore Airlines. You need to get in touch with them directly about it and produce a confirmation email at the airport but that extra 10kg could be really useful x
  20. I've put my personal and work email.
  21. Captain C, when it came to signing form 80, did you print off all 18 pages of the form and scan it all back in to create a new document so it was all together or did you just print, scan and load the signature page separately? Thank you
  22. Wow 60 extra sheets!! Thought I was bad with 2 lol. Did you just load them separately and name them as 'Form 80 further information page 1' or something similar? Thanks x
  23. Thank you everyone. Another question........ I need to add more information to Part T- more information. It says on the bottom of the sheet if there is not enough space to give the necessary information attach a separate statement to the form with further details. I cannot work out how to do this and google is no help! Any ideas?????
