  1. Fingers crossed for you!!! Don't worry about the Delia, I've been called worse :-) x
  2. Good luck to you too!! Have you front loaded everything? We are going to wait until the CO requests PCC and medical just to give us extra time to move or validate the visa x
  3. Hi, I am currently on maternity leave from my teaching post in the UK would this time count towards experience as I am still officially employed by the school or will it be discounted? Thanks x
  4. We got married in Australia, we had only booked a holiday to visit my sister and the friends we had made on our WHV and just decided to have a beach wedding while we were there. It was a fantastic day, better than we could have ever imagined. I know if we had married in the UK my mother in law would have completely taken over and we would have had to invite distant family we never see. I was sad that my dad couldn't be there (he was the one who suggested 'getting it over and done with' when we went on holiday). My in-laws were ok about it at the time but since then the odd negative comment has been dropped in. I don't regret it at all as it was our day the way we wanted it. Weddings should not be stressful! X
  5. No, they didn't ask for further evidence they just took that long. After 12 weeks I emailed them to ask if they did require anything else, didn't have a reply but recieved my certificate in the post a week later. Fingers crossed for you too, hopefully you won't need to wait as long as I did x
  6. Hi Nicole, it took 13 weeks from them saying they had received it to me getting my positive assessment, it was a long wait! It sounds like you have sent lots of evidence which is great so good luck in getting a positive answer, I hope you don't have to wait as long as I did! There is a thread for teachers in the jobs and careers section called 'teachers in Oz' I've found it really helpful so I'd recommend that you check it out :-) Emmaloulou when I completed my health declaration it gave me my HAP ID. There is a way of getting one before you fill in your application though. @CaptainC can you help with a link please?
  7. So I've taken the plunge and submitted the application and paid the fee! I've uploaded all documents apart from medicals and PCC. Just a waiting game now x
  8. I don't know, you will need to contact a migration agent to answer that question. There are agents on here that offer advice. Good luck
  9. If your wife has a British, Irish, American, Canadian or Australian passport then she doesn't need IELTS. Unfortunately if she does not hold one of these passports she does have to prove functional English by taking IELTS or the PTE exam. I am worried that you have submitted and paid if this is the case because there is a specific question that asks about your partners English. I would get in touch with a migration agent because you are at risk of having your visa rejected and losing your fee.
  10. When you click the submit now button you will be taken to another page which I assume is the immi account log in, you then create a new username and password. For your PCC you need to go to https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx For medicals you get your HAP ID when you submit all your info and payment. The reason people wait for a CO is because you have 12 months to validate your visa from the date of the PCC or medical whichever one is the earliest. Thank you, I just need to be brave and pay now!! Good luck with your application x
  11. You need to pay the visa fee and then you upload the documents once the payment has gone through. Once you have applied you get a HAP ID for your medicals, you can wait for the CO to request the medicals and PCC but I would make sure everything else is uploaded. When you press the button at the start you fill in all of the details for you and your family including passport numbers, it then goes through all of the information from the EOI and adding more detail, you then pay, then upload documents.
  12. As long as you have enough points without work experience then you can still get a visa. I haven't claimed any points for work experience as I have been in my nominated occupation for less than 3 years. Where does it say these documents are outstanding? (I haven't submitted my application yet so not sure what happens once you submit everything) x
  13. Yes it does thank you. I'll see how much space I have left when all of the documents are loaded and if there's enough I'll whack the transcripts on too. Just trying to compress the PDFs but not having much luck! X
  14. If you are not the main applicant you will not need to get your skills assessed by AITSL. To teach you would need to register with the teaching board of the specific state you would want to go to (in Perth it's the TRBWA) but you need to have 4 years university education for them to even look at your application so a PGCE or Masters would be the way to go. As far as non teaching positions go I'm not sure, if you want to work in private day care /nursery you need to register with ACECQA and have your qualifications assessed by them. Theres a good thread in jobs and careers called 'teachers in Oz' there are lots of people on there who have been through the whole registration process already and are happy to answer questions x
  15. Hi, Quick question for those who have uploaded their documents..... With you education certificates did you scan the award certificate only or did you include the transcript too? (One of my qualifications the transcript is 4 pages) I'm worried about the size of all of the files x
  16. I am waiting until I pay and load all of my other documentation before looking at medicals and PCC. Most people wait until their CO asks for them so it gives you more time to activate your visa. If you wanted to do medicals now you need your HAP ID which can be generated from your application.
  17. Yes I was surprised at how much 'cheaper' it was than I expected when I looked on Xe.com :-) still a lot to lose out on if you're not successful!! Exciting times!! Has anyone front loaded medicals or are you waiting for CO to request them? X
  18. Hi, I did the application by myself, well with lots of help from this forum really! I couldn't justify using an agent when my application was pretty straight forward (I hope I don't regret it). We haven't really decided where to go yet, we have lots of friends in Melbourne but my husband may have a job lead in Perth. Where would you like to go? It's all getting a bit real for us now. Good luck with your application x
  19. Hi all, There is no thread for September applicants so thought I would start it off.... I'm applying under Early Childhood Teacher with 60 points. My husband and two children are also on the application. I've just completed the 189 form but haven't pressed the pay button just yet, I'm going to go over my information again (for the 5th time!). Don't feel ready to spend almost £4000 without a guaranteed outcome lol Good luck to everyone lodging their application this month!
  20. Thank you CaptainC, I have the grant number for my 2nd WHV but that is all. Is there anyway to find my original grant number? X
  21. Hi all, Im sure this has been asked before but finding it hard to search for it through all of the threads. I'm currently filling in my 189 visa application. I have come to the section where it asks about expired passports that have been used to enter Australia. I have previously been in Australia on a WHV in 2006 and then a 2nd WHV in 2009 as well as going on holiday using a tourist visa in 2013. The question underneath this asks 'Does the applicant have an Australian visa grant number?' Does this mean currently or any previous grant numbers for the WHV? Also the next question asks if I have a visa label in any previous passports, all of the visas I have been given have been e-visas so I assume I just put no? Thank you for your help x
  22. Hi @SOJ I've been in deepest darkest Wales for a few days so had no internet. It sounds promising with AITSL, hopefully you can get the evidence they want and get a positive assessment. I think I have a copy of the letters that I sent to AITSL so if you can bear with me I'll find them out and try and take some pictures and I'll PM them to you. Where do you see how many people have applied for each job? I'm hoping for a visa invite this weekend! Eeeekkkk @fleks I still haven't decided about what to do for the 0-2 part for ACECQA shall I volunteer somewhere? If I called them to ask do you think I would get a straight answer or just an 'apply and see' ? X
