  1. Congratulations to the both of you!!! Great news!!! Xx
  2. I'm an Early Years teacher just about to make the move. I need to get my qualifications assessed by ACECQA maybe have a look at their website. They assess overseas childcare qualifications x
  3. Congratulations to you and the others that received their grants over the past 2 days. It seems that no one hears anything for a while and then a few get granted around the same time. Yes lots of planning to do now, will be all worth it when you're sat on the beach, cold beer in hand!!! :-) xx
  4. Fingers crossed for everyone waiting!! Hopefully before Christmas!! X
  5. Sorry for then confusion....When I said local, I meant the 2 nearest immigration recommended centres. I live in Birmingham so there are two centres within 5 miles, which is why I said local xx
  6. I'm a bit confused..... Have been looking at Early Childhood jobs for Perth in both schools and daycare centres on Seek. Most jobs are saying I need to be registered with TRBWA and have no mention of ACECQA. Do I only need to register with TRBWA or ACECQA as well, or does it depend on the setting? X
  7. Fantastic news Elaine!!! Good luck with all of your plans! X
  8. Have they Kirstyj? How much is it for one way to Perth? X
  9. Good news Derek!!!! Fingers crossed for everyone else waiting xx
  10. YAY!!! Brilliant news Kirstyj!!! Hopefully this means they are going back through September applications and giving grants!! Xx
  11. Sound great Roxyroo, would love to work until 3.30! Most days here it's 6.30pm and that's because the caretaker kicks me out!! Thanks for your advice and you too Fleks. Since I last posted I have received my 189 visa grant (woohoo!!!), handed in my notice at my current job and signed up with a supply agency who have already found me a PPA cover role, 3 days a week which is exactly what I was looking for. As as far as ACECQA goes I'll just have to get some 0-2 experience then hand everything in. Even if they decide I am Diploma level I'll be able to get a job and that's the most important thing. My daughter will need a nursery place and from the job adverts I've seen so far most daycare centres offer a decent staff discount so hopefully this will offset the drop in wages from a ECT to an ECE. @SOJ any news from AITSL? Selina x
  12. Thank you all for the congratulations. I still can't believe it and I keep checking my emails! It was pretty much 3 months from the invitation to apply. The plan now is to try and save as much as we can and hopefully head over to Perth in July/August as this is the time teaching jobs are advertised ready for the new school year. In the meantime I have to register with the teaching board so my form filling days are definitely not over!!! If we can't save enough we will only go over to validate and then make the big move in 2017 :-( Really hope it's our last winter here!!!! I've got my fingers and toes crossed for everyone else waiting! I managed to hold off on the champagne this morning, my husband and I will share it when the kids are in bed! We will clink our glasses to wish you all good luck!! Xx
  13. I GOT MY VISA GRANTED!!!!!!!!!! My 5 month old usually wakes for a bottle throughout the night so I check my emails then, she completely slept through last night so I've woke up this morning to 4 magic emails which are the visa grants for the whole family. This has been over 7 years in the making from convincing my then boyfriend (now husband) to not spend our savings on a house deposit but to travel the world with me instead, where we fell in love with Australia! A complete career change, a wedding and 2 kiss later here we are! I hope all of you hear very soon about your own grants!! Is 6am too early for champagne????? Selina x
  14. I didn't think you had to get them notarised as long as they were colour scans????? I haven't had any of my documents notarised :-/ x
  15. Thanks Roxy, I already have a positive assessment from AITSL as an Early Childhood Teacher but thought if I wanted to work in a school doing kindergarten I would have to register with the teaching board of the specific state (I am thinking of going to Perth so that would be the TRBWA)? How have you found working in a private preschool? And how did you find the ACECQA assessment, did you already have 0-2 experience? To gain 0-2 experience it looks like supply work is the answer. Thank again for the reply :-) x
  16. Hi, I've posted this on another thread so sorry for repeating but thought more people would see it here and be able to offer some advice.... I am in my 2nd year of teaching in Early Years but am currently on maternity leave, I have requested to return to my current school in January as part time because the cost of childcare will eat up the majority of my wages. My request was denied :-( now I have until Monday to tell my school if I will be returning to work in January full time or leaving completely. I have been in touch with a supply agency who say they can definitely get me work 3 days a week. Have worked out that doing 3 days on supply would be better for me financially compared to working full time and paying for childcare full time but the work isn't guaranteed and I don't get paid during the holidays. I also need to consider what will be best when it comes to registering as a teacher in Australia, I would like to stay in Early years. I'm thinking all of the form filling and requesting references would be easier if I have been at the same school since the start of my career but with supply I may be able to get experience with children age 0-2 which will cover some of the requirements for registration with ACECQA (which is who I need to register with to be able to work specifically in Early Years) this won't pay as good a wage as supply in a school and we are desperately trying to save for our move. Any advice on what would be the best course of action?????? Thanks in advance xx
  17. I need some advice. 18. I saw that too, it wasn't a direct grant either, they had extra info requested by a CO. Adelaide team too which is who I'm with. No idea how it all works or in what order they look at each persons case x
  19. Not heard anything either. Would love to have an answer before Christmas!! X
  20. Really hope we hear soon! Obssessed checking my emails, obsessed with coming on here, obsessed with my immi account!! It's driving me mad!! Lol xx
  21. Really hope your AITSL is successful!! My biggest issue at the moment is that I have no experience working with children age 0-2 and in the email they said the experience needs to be 'significant' whatever that means!! I found this old thread on another site but it hasn't been updated, seems like they were in the same position as us http://britishexpats.com/forum/immigration-visas-citizenship-australia-32/early-childhood-teaching-803731/page2/ We are thinking of moving to Perth but it's not set in stone yet. How about you?? Xx
  22. Yes I would put all education from GCSE onwards but be warned if you are asked for form 80 (which many people are, myself included) you need to put your education and work history from birth!! You do need to put all of your wife's history in too. I'm not claiming points for my husband but had to give all of his details. Our CO also asked for form 80 from him too x
  23. @CaptainC can I ask, when analysing the data have you seen any trends as to how long it will take to get a visa grant once all documents have been loaded and 28 days given by CO has passed? I have read on this site of some people getting a grant a few days after their medicals have been uploaded compared to some people waiting 6 months+ I know every visa application is different but wondered if you had spotted an average wait time? Thank you. Selina
  24. I found IELTS Liz to be really helpful, she has some you tube videos and a website with lots of example questions x
