  1. Ahhh Alansuspect! How about the eMedical client, where you enter your HAP ID??
  2. Hi Jen, they indicated I had nothing to worry about, saying they couldn't see i'd have a problem but naturally need to wait for the results of bloods and x-Rays. They told me to wait 4 working days, then I guess I just check my IMMI account to see if the results have been uploaded. Good luck with your application.
  3. Was fascinating viewing! Wouldn't mind getting a copy of my x-rays! Did you have to wait long for your med results to be uploaded Alansuspect? I'm sure we booked our meds at the same place.
  4. I was surprised at the eye test, as I have annual eye tests due to wearing contact lenses. At my medical, they didn't check peripheral vision or near vision, just if I could read at a distance. The lack of gown was explained by the doctor saying the X-ray technician must have run out of gowns. (Not really excusable so early on in the day). Thankfully, it wasn't really an issue for me, but maybe other patients may feel uncomfortable and vulnerable in that situation. However, they did ask if I would like a chaperone, so some level of professionalism was maintained. The doctor was friendly and chatty, but it did feel like I was on a quick cash conveyor belt.
  5. Was and wasn't what I was expecting.... No little hammer to test my reflexes, an eye test that involved reading two letters off a chart with each eye and no gown to cover my dignity whilst being examined! Ladies please note, if you are over 40, a breast examination is also carried out (Not forgetting to mention being prodded in the groin).
  6. So, I peed into a pot, striped off in front of a stranger, got prodded in intimate areas and for the first time saw an X-ray of my insides. Then handed over my credit card for the experience! Medical completed, one step nearer hopefully....
  7. Well done, another milestone passed on this long journey! How long did the medical last for? Anything unusual worth mentioning? Mine's next week!
  8. Thanks Alansuspect for putting my mind at ease! Just occurred to me that the only details they did take were a contact number. Considering they mention on their website about having credit card details to hand when booking, I was a little surprised when they didn't ask for them! Guess it's too much to expect a confirmation note as well! Good luck with your medical, not long to go now! Then more waiting!!
  9. I've recently booked my Medical (whoop! Milestone ahoy!) with Knightsbridge Visa Medicals in London. When I made the appointment they advised me that failure to attend would incur a £50 cancellation fee but they then didn't ask for credit card details! I have had no confirmation of the appointment either. Has anyone else had experience with this practice and is this normal? I was expecting to pay in full when I booked the appointment.
  10. We are thinking the same Alansuspect! I applied less than two weeks after you! Be interesting to know when the new 9-12 month applicants were told to get their meds and police checks done. Mine are due 6 months after the application was received...
  11. That's interesting.... New applicants are receiving shorter processing times of 9-12 months than the recent 10-14 months for those that applied towards the end of last year. Does anyone know historically that when the processing time shortens if those applicants who applied prior to this period may benefit from these shorter times also? Or is the waiting time more dependant on how many applications are recieved at the time and applications have dropped off a little since the 2015 visa price hike? Any thoughts on this welcome!
  12. Might be better to hang fire on the medical Melibios until you hear from your CO. Like you say it's a lot of money to pay out twice. As I understand it the medical is valid for 12 months and it needs to be valid when you enter Australia to validate the visa. From what I've read on here, the "must validate visa before...." time given on grant of the visa is based on 12 months from when you had your med/police checks done.
  13. Hi Melibos, current processing times are 10-14 months, you will get a letter from your CO introducing themselves and telling you what the waiting time is. They also advise you when to book your medical and police checks, mine is 6 months after I applied as the medical and police checks are only valid for 12 months. Unless they want more info, the CO is unlikely to contact you after initial introduction. I never received any indication from my CO if my application was ok. Then you just sit it out and wait! Hope this helps.
  14. Cheers, think I will do the same! Did you let your CO know you've booked it? Good luck with the med.
  15. Throwing this question out into the arena - how far in advance did people book their medicals for the date provided by their CO? And did anyone book their medical slightly earlier than was requested? I've been told after 15 May, but I actually have that day off work and was thinking to book it for then. Otherwise I will have to wait a week to have my medical and I don't want to delay the process anymore than necessary. Does anyone think it makes a difference to your grant time if you delay the medical slightly later than asked? (Obviously your medical date affects your visa validation date). Ta.
  16. Congratulations! Fab news. Liking these 'straight to 100's'! Wishing you well in your new adventures!
  17. Welcome to the waiting room! if you go into Settings (found at top right of page) and then look for the My Profile heading down the left hand column, there is a heading called Edit my signature. That is where you can enter all you details. Hope this helps. (By the way if you tick the 'Show your signiture' box when you post a message, your time line details will appear in every post).
  18. Hi JarvisG, My CO is WP. If you click on the link provided in the introduction email it just takes you to a generic form, which I guess eventually finds its way to your CO. Think it's to stop us bombarding them with emails! I think I remember reading on this thread somewhere that some people had worked out how to cobble together an email address and got a reply, but I don't think it is recommended contacting them via this unofficial route now. I did wonder at first if I would be asked for any extra info, but since it's almost four months now since I've applied, and I've heard nothing, I've accepted that they only contact you when they need too!
  19. Apart from the initial hello/confirmation of my application email from my CO I haven't had any further contact either. In that email I was given the time frame of at least 10-14 months and told to email any enquiries to the Europe Service Centre. No other contact details given for my CO.
  20. Thanks drew1975, that's reassuring news about the 100. We have been together for 8 years, married for 4. I suspect by the time I'm granted my visa it will be 9 years. Sounds promising though!
  21. Congratulations! Think this is going to be a good week for all those waiting on grants! Great news that you got the 100 - how long have you been in your relationship out of interest? Time for you to get busy!
  22. Hi, it's such a hard call, because if you sell up too early and ship anything it'll be sat in a warehouse somewhere collecting charges whilst you are sofa surfing around friends and families homes back here. Or, you delay selling upand are sat here waiting for the paperwork to complete. Given my neighbours situation, it took them less than a week to find a buyer for their house, but almost six months for the sale to complete. I think after Easter I am going to make enquires with estate agents and get some advice. It would just be so much more helpful if we were just given a grant date to work towards!!
  23. Good luck Sophielouise, really can't be far away now. Got my fingers crossed for you that today is a good day.
