  1. From the embassy website Q11 - I am an Australian citizen and I've just had a baby. What do I have to do to get Australian citizenship and an Australian passport for him/her? Before you can apply for an Australian passport for your child, he/she must first obtain Australian citizenship by descent. Citizeship must be applied for through the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), also located at the Australian High Commission. For further information please click the links below: Citizenship by descent application checklist When the child has obtained Australian citizenship, you can apply for a passport in the normal way using the Application for an Australian Passport Overseas form.
  2. I guess you need to apply for her Citizenship first, and Citizenship/Passport can't be done in parallel?
  3. We live in central London, so that is ideal. How long does the process take? I only ask as number 2 is on the way mid March, and when we finally move to Oz will be dictated by that! (Why make life simple )
  4. We probably won't go until July or August - so plenty of time. How much does it cost and how long does it take?
  5. Our daughter has Australian citizen by descent - though born in London, is it enough to just travel down on a tourist visa when we make the final move?
  6. That seems to have done the trick! It has just come through, at exactly 9 months. A 100 visa to boot, hooray!
  7. I emailed the CO using the online form yesterday, but haven't heard back yet. If anyone could PM KP's email that would be much appreciated. Seems much more effective than through the form. 9 months exactly today, so its more than due now!
  8. It will be 9 months for me tomorrow, and haven't heard anything since the request for more info. Should I be chasing the CO or does that suggest everything is in order?
  9. Good to see the grants coming through again. It's 9 months for us on Wednesday, almost there!
  10. We are still waiting, 8 months and 28 days now. Fingers crossed its this week
  11. Let us know how you get on. I'm in the same boat as you and would also like to line something up beforehand if possible.
  12. Might be worth checking with an agent on this one for a definitive answer. My situation was similar to yours (aussie wife, 1 kid with aussie citizenship). We didn't include the kid as "migrating with us" as we were advised we didn't need to as they aren't technically migrants. We are nearing grant stage and our CO hasn't mentioned anything so you should be fine to leave them off. Also, we didn't need a medical for the young one. If we are granted soon I'll let you know as our situations are very similar.
  13. Great news, good to see the approvals are moving again after the New Year/Christmas break.
