  19. Hi BB, just seen you quote, hope you don't mind me asking a few questions??? We are a family of 4 (children 7&11) and are moving to bayside in January. We have only lived in Sydney 14 years ago and decided Melbourne seems more family friendly. Which are the best areas to live in, in Bayside? Do you know of any nice rentals for 2-3 weeks ( 3 bed )? I'm a beauty/holistic therapist and assessor and my partner is a carpenter/site foreman, do you know what the job situation is like out their? We keep on looking at SEEK is this the best way to search for work? Last question .... What did you need to prove to get a permanent rental? Thank you in advance. Jenni x
  20. Hi, we are a family of 4 and are thinking about moving to Brunswick in January from leicestershire, what is it like their? :chatterbox:
  21. Any advise would be really appreciated, we are a family of 4 ( children are 7 & 11) who love the out doors, shopping and socialising, my partner is a site foreman/carpenter and I'm a beauty therapist and beauty assessor. We have been granted a 189 visa and are moving in January 2015. The problem is we are unable to decide where to live?!! We love contemporary living and nice beaches with easy access to the City. Where would you advise to live? Does any one know what the job situation is like in Adelaide? As far as I know the cost of living in Adelaide is a lot lower than Melbourne, is this right? Our dream is to build our own house but I don't know if it's going to be too expensive in Melbourne. Sorry to rabble on, I have so many questions. I would just like someone's honest option :-)) . :chatterbox::tongue::wub:
  22. We are due to fly out in January :-) it took us 18mths! The main reason for that length of time was the ielts test as my partner is dyslexic and had to get all 8's so took a few attempts ( Thank god I didn't have to sit it as I'm worse than him lol) Also we were both flat out at work. Have you applied yet? How old is your partner? My partner is over 40 and had to get a really high score in his ielts. I would advise to try a mock test first and see how you do. :-) what do you do for a living? Jx
  23. My hubby is a carpenter and we have been accepted for a 189 skilled independent visa. I really wouldn't risk going on a employer sponsored visa, we looked at this and to be honest I doubt you would get sponsership anyway. I would recommend using an agent too, ours was fantastic, I don't think we could of done it with out them, we used a company called immigration2oz ask for Jon he's the director, he was very helpful. If you need any more advise I'll be happy to help. Jx
  24. Hi Beth, welcome to the forum :-) we too are off to Melbourne in January. Our visas we're granted 4 weeks after our medicals, we got direct grants (189) from our EOI to grant took us 11 weeks. We are using move cube 6m cubed container costing around £900. We don't need a big container as we have sold nearly all our furniture so it's just for personnel items. Where abouts in Melbourne are you looking at? Also when are you hoping to make to big move? Hope your visa makes a speedy appearance. Jx
