  1. Ye your nom app was submitted 14/08/2014 whereas mine is 19/11/2014. However, I don't think the nomination will change the fact that we are both now at the very back of the queue. If they're progressing new apps from the 22nd Nov as well as the usual apps we're the unluckiest of them all. New joiners, please don't forget to add your entry to: http://bit.ly/1Gfs4qI or if existing members see new details if you can spare a moment and kindly add or update any entries they see on the forum that would be great.
  2. Future Sydneysider here. Initially was going to be Melbourne but circumstances changed and an opportunity came up in Sydney. I think I would prefer a busy city anyway, considering I work in a London borough. Bringing along my wife and 2 kids too. Interesting times ahead!
  3. If your company sponsors often, check with them? They may be able to offer some advice. Sorry, not trying to teach your grandmother to suck eggs, but to me it seems like the most obvious. Especially as youve had radio silence for so long.
  4. Someone in July too hasn't progressed. Perhaps you could ask the MA for access to the immi account? I thought they simply make an account as you would do if you did it yourself. Its essentially your account, no?
  5. Sorry people, there does seem to be the odd date or two that have their month and day in reverse, this was due to change from US to UK format. Please confirm your dates again, and I promise it won't happy again :ssign13: The format is DD/MM/YYYY
  6. Yes, I thought that too but not sure how I could achieve that? At the moment it's AVERAGE(G4:G) which is 104.6 days. If I use MEDIAN(G4:G) it's 101 days?
  7. Hi mate, the point of the spreadsheet is to give you an indication of where immi is at with applications. I think you're in for a long wait if you consider that they've just started processing September. You're looking at around 120 days average from the day you submitted your application. For anyone who has their information on the spreadsheet, I've updated it and added the number of processing days each successful visa application has taken. This column is protected and can't be edited. A FX has been applied to the column to work out days before submission of application to visa grant. I did have to change the region of the spreadsheet to 'UK' as all the dates where a bit screwed up. This changed a few days. I did repair all that I found to be incorrect however, it would be wise to recheck your dates please. Apologies if I missed one.
  8. It looks great, thanks for the help. Hoping everyone could add it the link to their signatures for future forum members.

  10. Hah! I'm surprised you didn't follow through with this masterpiece:
  11. I took the liberty of creating a Google sheet with public edit permissions. Might make it easier to manage? http://bit.ly/1Gfs4qI Edit: I hope it's editable, can't tell from my phone.
  12. I'm South African, so I've had my fair share of sun. Lived in the UK now for 15 years and I can assure you, the heat, humidity and sun, is in my soul. It will never get tiring. UK winters are far too long, dull and boring me. I gave it a good try though, always the believer of trying something once. Done the UK now, time to move along. Each to their own.
  13. Beauty is subjective. I do love both though. Wintery mornings are great in very, very short bursts. Any longer than a day is too long.
  14. Practice, practice, and more practice. I too needed 8 in all four skills, and I still never managed it. Kept failing the written skill by a 1 point, and in one case .5 of a point. The exam is definitely acheivable if you get proper training and study well. Also, keep in mind that when you book your IELTS you will probably have to way 2 to 4 weeks before you can sit the exam (the centres get full quickly). After you've written the exam the results take 2 weeks to be returned to you. If you fail to get the correct marks you have to rebook, I.e wait anither 2 to 4 weeks before you can sit the exam and repeat. The cost of the exam is £145. Not trying to put you off, simply reiterating the importance of study, tuition, and practice to save you time and money. Saying that, I've heard people pass it with full flying colours in one attempt. Good luck.
  15. I can't comment on the Hep B itself but in relation to the medicals. I believe you have to wait for your CO who will then provide you with a HAP ID. Getting your medicals done before receiving this ID will only slow the progress. That was th case for me anyway, and it does state this on the medicals immi page. Will see if I can reference the page.
  16. all 7s ! You are extremely lucky as you'll be laughing all the way to Oz with that requirement. If English is your native language, you will breeze 7s. It is advisable to do a handful of tests to make sure you understand the format. I don't think you'll need it but good lucky anyway!
  17. I concur. I've been at it for 12 months now. For me it has been the IELTS, if I never have to resit that exam again it'll be too soon. All 8's is somewhat of a black art. Finger crossed for you Nadz128, what score do you need on the IELTS?
  18. Hi, I have a question, and I did a quick search too but nothing was immediately obvious. Lets pretend I'm on a temporary visa (I don't think it matters which one?) and I apply for PR. If my application was submitted say in May and would take 3 to 6 months to be granted. What if during that time, in July, my skill was removed from the SOL. Does that affect my application? I'm sure this has been asked a trazillion times and again, my sincerest apologies if it comes across as lazy. Cheers Byron
  19. Thanks Nicola, that's a great tip! Fortunately, my writing is a little more formal in the exam that that of the forum. There is an appeal process, but it's only really useful if half a point is required. i.e 7.5 to 8.0. The sad part about that, I could have done so on my second attempt, but didn't realise you could until it was too late!
  20. Thanks you, the IELTS is an English exam where they test your skills in all four components. Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
  21. I'm turning to you lot for inspiration. As it stands I've just received my 5th attempt IELTS results, and sadly writing is screwing me over. My scores to date. 1. 9.0/8.0/7.0/9.0 2. 9.0/8.5/7.5/9.0 3. 9.0/9.0/6.5/9.0 4. 9.0/9.0/7.0/9.0 5. 9.0/8.5/7.0/9.0 My mother tongue is English but yet I cannot make the examiners happy with my writing. I've studied structure, vocab, grammar, cohesion, cohesiveness and so on. Still I cannot find a way past this flip'n pain in the whatsits. I'm resorting to hiring a tutor now because the one thing I do find excruciatingly frustrating is that the results do no include a summary or indicator of what it is I am doing wrong. A small hint would be nice!! Has anyone else managed to do the exam as many times as I? I'm sure I may be setting a new record here and making someone very rich at the same time. Someone give me some love please. Byron
