  1. Ok where do I Start I have One Big Dilemma on my hands. ill bring you guys up to date ! I have permeant residency my fiancé of 10 yrs doesn't. His to old for holiday visa 34 so I would need to sponsor him. Over the yrs we have done months apart due to work and personal commitments. 3.5 yrs ago I came back from being in oz after being back there for 6 months, me wanting to stay loving life and work, giving us great options for the future. but my partner wanted me to come back to the uk, With us making a promise to each other that we would give my partners business ago here for 3 yrs if it didn't work out and if things couldn't give us a better quality of life, we was to return and give our future a good go out there with the intention of getting our citizenship. Over 18 months ago I brought the subject up about filling in his visa, in order for it to be proceeds in time for when we wanted to return! If that's what what we decided. To say the least I have brought the subject up many re times but he never took it any further. (Well not further enough to get it on the dotted line as to speak) At times I could shake him as I know myself these things don't happen over night. :arghh: But I came to the conclusion you can't lead a horse to water. Then came my fear that I have to face facts that he officiously doesn't want to go back as much as I do. Even though I'd feared this I suppose I'd hoped he want want to go back as much as me, and see what potential we have over there compared to what lifestyle can give us here. I do understand this but I just wanted him to be honest, as I feel we was just treading water. But No still telling me he wants to go back but will sort it. Well give an take 12 months has scarily passed and this is when I said I was going to return as I don't want to let my visa expire as I know how lucky I am to have it, plus why should I wait when I wanted to get the ball rolling last yr.(without being mean )So am looking at returning shortly . Even though I have been open and honest and said all along if you don't pull your finger out, we will be put in the position where I'll be going alone, as it will take up to nine months to process if your lucky. Now he has changed his mind and can see the benefits Australia can give us and feels it's the right time to go back and it's to good a opportunity to pass. What to do ??????? Panic his wanting to fill in his partner visa here and wait for the nine-12 months off shore. I'm thinking chance it and apply onshore . I would be going July, he would then come out either way aug to visit for 3 wks and see if his lucky enough to be excepted. Has as anyone else done this!
  2. Sorry that was ment to say of will I have to pay to get it unlocked in oz lol!
  3. Hi there just getting things ready to return back to oz and just want to check if I currently have a Apple iPad 32g 3G unlocked will I just be able to get a SIM card plan the same as I always have done with my old phone. Or will I have to pay to egg if unlocked in oz. Any advice on iPads would be a great help!
  4. Hi there I wondered if someone could set me straight on what the average tax you get stopped on your wages. If you are working for someone in Australia . For example i get stopped 20% here in the uk at the end of my monthly wages. I'm just trying to work out what I'd be left with.
  5. Hi all I'm just trying to get the facts correct about apply for citizenship . i know under the act of 2007 that you need to do 4 yrs with with 12 months being a pr and being in the country no less than 90days before application. but I'm sure I read if you had permanent residency before 2007 you don't have to do as long .:elvis: example myself got pr when I was 12 and I'm now 30, I have always just got a resident return visa when I've needed to return. I'm currently in the uk but am moving back to oz this year, as I'm aware the time I'm back in the uk I lose the time I've spent in oz. im sure I read that if you had applied for pr before 2007 you can apply for citizenship after spending 2 years in Australia. Please correct me if anyone knows.
  6. I there! i have been in your eldest daughters position over the years and yes I was lucky enough to get my renewed. When you fill in your resident return form it will give you chance to put a statement of why you have let it expired. Just be honest with them and say for personal reason she came back but she now realises Australia is the place where she wants to settle, plus she has the bonus of having you guys there. I had to put my parents passport details down, so they could check them to. But what ever she does don't apply for a years working visa until she she has tried that option, as I nearly did assuming they wouldn't re new my permeant residency. I got told buy immigration if I had of gone down that route first it would have wiped it clean as if I'd never had p.r if that makes sense. I'm sure you will be fine.x
  7. Hi there your job description is the same as myself! I currently have permanent residency. I would recommend if your under 31 go on a years working visa if not then apply on your skills. I have never struggled with finding work over the years and the pay is much better in oz. the one thing I would recommend is that you get trained in hot waxing as it is very big out there.
  8. Would really appreciate if anyone has done this !
  9. Hi there am getting ready to fill in online application for partner visa. I know a lot of you say wait to get police check and medicals until your co ask for them, but I was wondering is there any harm in getting them fronted up when you apply. Just trying to get paper work sorted incase I have to leave to work in oz and my fiancé isn't keen on paper work. Are they only valid for so long! Sorry it's been so long since I applied for mine. also I'm based in suffolk/ Essex area would you say the closest one is Brentwood for medicals.
  10. Hi AWOL I've been reading your thread and it says that you applied for a partner visa in the uk and was waiting on the ok but then you put that you was on shore. Can I ask what visa you went on to become in oz or have I miss read the post !
  11. Who else is watching wanted down under in perth this morning! just making me think how I can't wait to get in that warm sunshine and feel the sand between my toes. Gutted I can't be there to celebrate Australia Day
  12. Was thinking of giving Australia house in London a call and putting it to them, as migration agent can be costly, what do you think. Going to get the permeant visa filled in and get the ball rolling, if it seems to be taking longer than the six months a holiday it is lol!
  13. Many thanks for that so really looks like permeant one is best option. Was only thinking about on shore option so that we wouldn't have to be apart so long as lots have been saying it can take 9-12 months to come through. We've done six months apart before and if you have to you get on with it, but just wondered if there's anyway of getting a bridging visa to come out and work on until you get the ok for the permeant visa?
  14. Hi all! ive been having a good read of the partner booklet but I'm a little stumped on a few things? as I've mentioned on her before my partner and I are looking at returning to perth this yr. I have permeant residency so we are looking at the best visa to get him on. Option 1: partner visa applying from uk and fingers crossed won't take forever lol or option 2: prospective marriage visa ( getting married within nine months) we have been together 10 yrs so shouldn't struggle to much with getting evidence, to get visa. we are looking at getting married but had just put it on hold due to financing other things and if visa didn't take forever to come through, there could be a chance of getting married next year ! just wondered what the benefits are as they seem to be very similar and can't see why you wouldn't just apply for the partner one rather than the marriage one. Ie is it a faster process in getting out there? plus some people have mentioned about applying on shore! But I'm not sure how we would go about that. im going to be going ahead anyway, so in order for him to apply on shore would he come out on a holiday visa, as has already done working visa. but surely that would mean him getting a one way flight and then they would question that, so I can't see how you get round that. Please if I'm having a blonde moment please correct me lol! Just trying to get all the facts.
  15. I think I need to get digging the info out lol! can I ask did you apply for a visa 820/801 or a 309/100 temp then a permeant . Or one that you arrive on a temp then apply for permeant after you have married. Are you enjoying your time out there
  16. Hi readstogo many thanks for getting back to me. any info is helpful . It's tough because you don't want to feel like your pushing them into going but I know he will thank me for it. so have you guys made the move yet ?
  17. Hi everyone ! Havant been on here for a while and thought I must get back on here. would like to wish everyone a new yr! well fingers crossed for me new yr new start and all that. abit about my situation I'm 30 and have been what you call a bit of a bouncing pom over there years. Mostly due to my parents work and family commitments. So perth has always been a second home for me. love everything about there lifestyle apart from the obvious being torn with family in both parts of the world. where is my life taking me at the moment! I have been with my fiancé for 10 yrs and over the years he has spent time with me in oz maximum 5months in one go. which he enjoyed but due to personal reason we had to return. three years ok myself got made redundant and decided to take a good job opportunity in perth so we spent six months apart, which was fine thanks to the world of Skype. The difficult part came when I wanted to stay and get my citizen ship, as I'm currently on a permeant resident visa and settle. My partner didn't want to come out at the time as he was happy with his work so we decided I would return and we would give it three years. Then look at it again. Well the three years has come round and we have decided to get the ball rolling with applying for the partner/ spouse visa. i got to say I still am the driving force behind it ekkk ! But I just don't feel the uk is offering us enough for me to let my Australian permanent visa expire, as I know how lucky I am that I have had it extend over the years. What's the best way to go about sorting the visa out! Should I fill it out ASAP here uk and get police check, medicals sent all at the same time. Evidence letter of us being together so they have it all there. or as I'm going ahead in the next couple of months, get him to come out on a holiday visa and apply onshore. I know he won't be able to work until visa comes through. What would you guys recommend. sometimes I feel am I being selfish in not wanting to let my permanent residency expire as I know how lucky I am to have it. I tell my fiancé what's five years out of our life. when I've been back three years already. His very much the type of person anything for any easy life. But I don't believe you get anything in life without sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone.
  18. Yes sadly his 33 and he used a 1 yr working visa the time when he came and stayed with me for five months.
  19. Where about are you ? Are you living in Australia at the moment . so you applied for your partner to go out last May and still haven't had an answer or am I miss reading your message lol.
  20. Many thanks for your reply ! o god Ill have to see if I can see if I can somehow get that from Skype, wouldn't have even thought about that. yes will have a good read of that booklet. do you think it could take that long? Are they still doing it where you can go to London house to fill in a application, or is it all on line these days. would most of you recommend applying here rather than oz? yes I'm looking at returning to perth, get back in to work in the next four months. At at times I doubt my situation am I being selfish not wanting to lose my visa but I just know how lucky I am to have it. i tell my fiancé what's five years out of our lives. We are only in our early thirties. When I think How quick three years has gone since being back. at times his very much anything for any easy life but in my eyes you don't get rewards without stepping out your comfort zone.

  22. Good afternoon ! so the time has come to start the ball rolling ! my partner and I both in our early thirties. have decided to finally make the move back to perth. We have been together for nine years and in that time spent a lot of that time living in the uk, due to family and work commitments. I am lucky enough to have permeant residency, which I have had for many years but have never got round to getting my citzen ship which is a big reason to return permanently, plus wanting to settle in oz for a better quality of life for both of us. my partner has been out on holiday a couple of times to visit me over the years, and came out on a working visa for 6 months. I had to make the hard decision three years ago, as to if i was going to let my australian visa expire and stay in the uk with my long term partner or to try and extend it and return back to oz alone as he wasn't sure if he could leave his family. I decided to return to oz as i felt it would be the wrong move to let it go.we done some months apart but we decided we didn't want to be apart . At times I wish my heart didn't rule lol!:arghh: so I returned we got engaged, moved in together and three years has passed! we have both now decided is the right time for both of us to make the move to Australia seeing the opportunities it offers us and the quality of life and a great place to bring up a family. :jiggy: so we are filling in his partner/fiancé form and was just wondering should I get police check form and medicals all done ready to send with this application and all evidence of us being together. To give us the best chance of it going through quicker? as I could be going ahead due to work. It's been so long since I applied for mine, things change all the time.
  23. Go onto this thread http://www.firsthome.gov.au/ just found it got some useful info on buying first property, also found you could also be entitled to a $2000 grant towards solicitor fees or other cost.
  24. That's great news thank you for getting back to me. Thats cleared that question up. Just gotta get saving now! if anyone knows of any other things or grants or help you maybe entitled too please pass info on. Also if your applying with the min deposit for mortgage on a house and land package or apartment, do you know what the least amount of time they like you to be employed with an employer in your in full time work?
  25. hi everyone just wondered if anyone could shed some light on this for me, maybe some others have been in a similar situation. I hopefully will be looking at buying a place in perth wa in the next couple yrs. I will be in full time work and currently hold a permeant visa but can't apply for my citizenship for afew years. i have been looking at land and house packages on first home buyers, which states you only need to save 3000 deposit, and other ones which state small deposits. Just wanted to know will I be legible for the first home owner grant on my permeant resident visa or not until I become an australian citizen.
