  1. You are definitely right. Now I have created a new question and since my first question here on PIO things have changed. So in this thread http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/208695-migration-australia-sweden-advice-needed.html everything is up to date. Thanks MaggieMay24 :notworthy:
  2. After some posts here on PIO I have got some advice that I should write exactly what my plan is and then I can could get a good advice. So here we go. Me (male 34, wife 26 & son 2 year old) and my father (61 and mother 55 years old) want to migrate to Australia. I work today as system developer / project manager with more then 7 years of experience. My dad has over 20 years as air-conditioning and refrigeration mechanic. My dad got and offer for a job and he has a 457 in place. I have an offer for 457 through Lester Associates if I get a job offer. And I can say that I have so I will have that sorted out in a week or two. So now since we want to settle for life in Australia we would need to go from 457 to a PR visa. And in my case I will try to get one and later on I will apply for a parent visa for my parents. So I have many questions as everybody in my situation but one question that is important right now is if I should apply for a direct entry visa 189 or if I should go for 457 and during my time in Australia as soon as we arrive apply for a 189? Our issue is also that we want to make the move to Australia during summer 2014. Please give me some advice.
  3. Can I apply for 186 or 187 visa while I'm having the 457 visa and working in Australia?
  4. What might be the reason for that? If I have a job and good annual income. And have done everything right and never broke the law. Of course I'm aware of it. But would like to know if you have an own experience or if you might know some cases.
  5. Yes that is what I mean. Both me and my dad have 457 visa. For different jobs. After two years I will apply for permanent residency. But my dad can't. So when I get my PR then I will sponsor him. Does this sound better?
  6. Yes you are right sorry. Well since both me and my father will have 457 visa I guess that we might have several options. And that we have to see once we arrive in Oz. Do you thing a lawyer might help out or is this just waste of money? I know that in US a good lawyer can get you a greencard easy but they cost.
  7. If family balance test is about how many children are living in Oz and have PR then it is only me. So my father & mother would pass the test. Right? And do you Rupert mean that the waiting time is less if we take this road? I mean Parent visa road.
  8. Can you please send it to me as well? I might be in the same situation soon.
  9. How will it work with parent visa? What is the test based on?
  10. Hi. My father is 62 years old and he will get a 457 visa within a month. What is the best way for him to apply for a permanent residency visa? I will also get a 457 visa but my age is 34. Is there any age limit for my father and if yes what is the best way for us to get the permanent residency?
  11. Now you scare me a little bi Eera. So how many positions out there are really a position and not an agent?
  12. No I have finally a good cover letter and I'm rewriting it for every position that I apply for. So I hope that I can soon get an offer as Project manager within IT. What do you guys think of my chances?
  13. Hi. I'm actively searching for a job as IT Project Manager in Brisbane and Gold Coast. My CV Looks good and I have cover all the parts that I should cover. But my big question is if it is necessary to write a cover letter on not? And how much weight does employer put on reading a cover letter? Thanks. :ssign2:
  14. Can you please say what ethnicity you are? I'm moving from Sweden to Australia just because of that problem. And thought that I will not have that problem in Australia. So that is why I'm curios.
  15. Yes that is exactly what I mean. I have heard that the law has changed so that's why I'm asking this question.
  16. Hi. I will be sponsored for a 457 visa soon and I have heard that it is not possible to apply for a permanent residency while I'm having 457 visa. Does anyone know if that is the rule or if I can apply for permanent residency while having 457 visa? Thanks. :err:
  17. Hi guys. I will soon move to Australia but I have a part time company and would like to move that business to Australia. This is an online company and I would like to relocate the address and everything else. Any help is appreciated.
  18. I will move to Australia soon and I need their help with our son since both me and my wife will work. And they don't have anyone else close to them in Sweden. So when we leave they will be alone. So that's why we would like to bring them asap.
  19. I will have and annual income of at least $160.000. My father is refrigeration and AC technician. And my mother works with economics. But they will retire soon. I am the only child. Can I sponsor them ASAP or do i have to wait for 2 years to past? Or is there any other way?
  20. Hi guys. I would like to know how I can bring my parents to Australia. Can I do some kind of family connection thing or can it be done in some other way. I have a wife and a child 2 year old. And my parents would come to babysit and enjoy their pension. Thanks to all answers.
  21. Please tell us more. We are in the same situation. Have sent you a PM.
  22. Hi. I wanted to apply for a 175 visa today and found out this message: "1. The Department has ceased accepting applications from applicants for Subclass 175, Subclass 176, Subclass 475, Subclass 885, Subclass 886, Subclass 487 and Subclass 487R visas. For more information, please see: " Does anybody know if the deparment will reopen so that I can apply or is it ceased for ever? Or is there another type of visa that is kind of similar to this one?
