Hi Sami, Well i did everything by myself. Yes thats right it could take even more time. First stage - Engineers Australia assessment that could take upto 19 weeks (5 months) according to current processing time. (It takes lesser time if you applying through Washington / Sydney accord (1-2 months) Second stage - Invitation based on EOI process may take 2-3 weeks based on the date of application cuz there are 2 rounds every month) Third stage - Visa application 10 weeks maximum, in my case around 8 weeks for independent visa subclass 189 (subclass 190 will take lesser time but i think if he has the same ANZSCO the job is N/A in the SOL, 190 state sponsorship process is faster)

Thanks!! Well it took me around 17 days, but could be longer or shorter based on the CO. Mine took a long time because of the easter holidays. What is your timeline?

Hi vcosta, I have the same issue as yours, my passport copy and the the payslip are still in the required status rest all in the received status. The wait is killing me...

Hi Laura, I saw CO's are being assigned for the Jan 2nd week applicant. So lets hope for the best. The waiting is such a bummer. Good luck.

Hi Yasara, Thanks for the info. Il look into the PCC process. I think il wait for the CO to be assigned as I am not using any agent. I still havent been assigned a CO. This waiting sucks. Well about your question on the last post. I think if your service letter and other docs are in order I don't think they will contact your employer, but better inform them beforehand as I already informed my HR regarding this. Good luck again!

Hi Yasara, I too applied for the 189 visa on the 24th and applied for the clearance certificate last week. From what I've heard it is best to get your medicals done after the CO is assigned. Also today I checked my visa app documents and some were in the received status along with today's date. So hoping to get a CO assigned soon. Anyway good luck with your process

Hi mel, Yes it is almost the same application as the EOI but just more additional information and some documents to upload. Please make sure all the information are the same in the EOI. These were the documents that I uploaded and you don't need to upload the certified copies, just the scanned originals would do till the case officer is assigned. 1. Birth Certificate (Originals in English & Native language) 2. Passport (All the used pages) 3. IELTS results sheet 4. Degree certificate & Transcripts 5. Proof of Employment : Bank Statements (3 statements per 1 year), Employer certification with salary particulars & Service letter, EPF & ETF Tax particulars (3 slips per year), Pay slips (3 per year) 6. Skill Assessment

Hi everyone, I lodged my 189 visa application on 24/01/2013 and uploaded necessary documents. Hoping to get a CO assigned soon. I noticed from the posts that it takes almost a month for a CO to be assigned. I will have to wait that long then. Anyway hoping for the best. Good luck to everyone! I am having trouble to view the application and the visa receipt. Does anyone know why is it? Or will i be able to view them only after the CO is assigned? Some kind help would do as I am applying by myself and not using an agent. Thanks

Hi all, I lodged my visa application for 189 class on the 24th of january 2013 and uploaded all necessary documents except the clearance certificate. Still the status of the application is shown as in progress. Also I cannot view the receipt or the application when i click on the links. Does anyone know why this is the case? And how long in general does it take for a CO to be assigned.
