  1. Finally ..........VISA GRANT!!!! :-) decided to look before I went to bed and there it was! Hot off the press! Flights booked 29th Dec!! Happy days!
  2. We got a CO on 30/10 and the initial assessment took place by 7/11. I think your agent is just trying to manage your expectations....which isn't a bad thing.
  3. Yeah I think you're right. Are you also Team 4 Adelaide?
  4. Hi, could do with anyone's thoughts on this please? Everything was moving along great. CO allocated....email asking for kids birth certificate with parents names on it, that's it.........uploaded same day 7/11........then nothing. Rightly or wrongly we thought we would hear pretty quickly after the 7th and my wife now has a job to start in January in Perth, so we are really needing to book flights, container, etc. i'm thinking we book flights for 29/12, get the removal people in and just go for it as I'm sure we will hear something shortly but the OH is saying we shouldn't book anything until we get the visa. Arghhhhhh!!! P.s. Ive emailed Team 4 twice in the last week and got no response. I've rang them as well and been told all documents are there and the average turn around time is 6 MONTHS!
  5. Well done Deeacz!!! It's all happening this morning......we got an email from Team 4 Adelaide and all they've asked for is a more detailed copy of the kids birth certificates. So close! ;-)
  6. From accepting our nomination to getting our visa invite took 5 days but that included a weekend. Ours was a 190 visa though and so the visa invitations for a 189 are different.
  7. Just rang the Adelaide number Deeacz put on a PP thread last week. We were allocated a CO 30/10 and she says that all the documents we were asked for appear to be there so the CO will be in touch soon.
  8. Thats because I'm trying to get out of here before the year is up! :-) Everything uploaded and playing the waiting game for a CO.
  9. We had our Medicals today in Manchester and when we got back, the police clearances were sitting on the doormat. Just logged on to upload them and the kids Medicals have already been uploaded by the hospital. All taking shape.....
  10. Yeah we can keep this post up to date so we'll be able to see how we are both progressing.
  11. We lodged ours on the 25/9. Medicals booked for 8/10 and PCC due back in the next week. Busy with get things docs certified and will upload them next week.
  12. Thanks Tomate, unfortunately I've had someone (nurse) on a 457 who had to get there colour copies certified after submission but as usual it probably depends on how you CO is feeling that day! congrats on getting your Visa!
  13. Hi, are there any nurses or midwives who have recently been granted their 189/190 visa, who can confirm that DIAC accept colour copies of documents rather than certified black & white copies? Thanks, Gordon
  14. We got married last year at The BlueWater Grill at Applecross. You pay Melville Council to use the lawned area in front of the restaurant and had the reception on the terrace of the restaurant. We only had about 30 people at the wedding (20 adults and 10 children) and I was amazed how much cheaper it was than the wineries. We obviously researched loads of places in Perth first and found they all wanted minimum 50 or 60 people. PM me if you would like pics or telephone numbers of celebrant, photographer, etc. I'm not saying it was cheap but i'am Scottish so let's just say I'm canny with my money! :-) The day was absolutely perfect.
  15. Your credit history has no bearing at all on your visa application.
  16. Hi Smitty, I wondered the same thing last week and got this reply from WA and I think it's the same in all states. It's the 189 that has specific dates in the month. 'Invitations to apply for State nomination are issued weekly. If you have not received an invitation in the first week you may be selected in subsequent weeks.' hope this helps
  17. Last week ours was less than 24 hours so you should be fine. The original letter from ANMAC landed on the doormat yesterday. And submitted our WA SS today!!! Once anmac's out the way, it doesn't half go faster! :-)
  18. Hi Nic1171 Thanks again for all your help in the last number of months. I really hope it all works out for you. :-) Cheers Gordon
  19. Hi Richard, Rupert is correct, your wife definitely needs to do the Academic if she wants a successful ANMAC assessment. The other point I thought I better add, once ANMAC is done, you submit your Expression of Interest for the 190 visa and from that, the state you want nominated by will send you an invite to apply for state sponsorship. We just put our EOI in on Friday. Good luck!
  20. Next email received within 24hrs from 2nd assessor to say all completed. :jiggy:LOD should be received within 3 weeks. Did I read somewhere you can asked to have it emailed or faxed?
  21. Hi Tweeniegirl, who told you or where did you read that ANMAC skills assessment is based on the number of hours worked? The reason I ask, my OH just received a positive response from ANMAC and she has never worked full time. I have read the ANMAC site front to back and looked at the 5 standards they now adhere to, and I can find no reference to number of hours worked.
  22. UPDATE:- Sent the outstanding statement of service via FEDEX Friday last week. Delivered in Canberra yesterday. Email today to say it's been passed for second assessment. Fingers crossed that is us now. If I can also add an important point.............. The new 5 standards of assessment by ANMAC don't stipulate that you must be working full time or ever worked full time. These are the new revised standards set up in June 2013.
  23. Thanks NorthumbrianDavid and Nic1171. Even though she's contracted for 30 hours, she rarely just works this amount and does extra shifts every week so we shall see what ANMAC say. Docs are being FedEx'd today so the waiting game continues. Just noticed nic1171 that you are off very soon. Best of luck and thanks for your help in the last 12 months.
  24. Hi can anyone explain what it means when it states on the ANMAC website under the Professional Reference section 'employment less than 3 months (FULL TIME EQUIVALENT) duration' will not be accepted? My OH is now worried that although she has 5 years experience as a midwife and has been contracted to work 30 hours/week since July 2010, she thinks ANMAC will not give her a positive skills assessment because she doesn't work what may be classed as full time hours i.e. 37.5 hours/week? Thanks Gordon
