  1. Huge congrats to everyone who has had their visa grants, what a great crimbo prssie..... fingers crossed for January for us May applicants
  2. Hey, we sent over a 40ft container full of power tools and machinery, we cleaned them ourselves, you need to make sure they are free from dirt and grease, thinners/degreaser/white spirit works a treat, I wouldn't go too mental over it, as long as they have been cleaned you will be fine, ours got through customs no worries. If I can be of any other help let me know Becky
  3. Hi All, I am not sure if this is the correct thread to ask this but here goes, hope you may be able to help. There are many of us that are waiting for our visa's to be granted, I used an agent and she has always told me that it would take 8-9 months for a decision to be made as to whether or not I will get the visa. My question is, I have done everything necessary and been waiting to hear if I have been successful. Is it a givens that because I have been waiting for 7 months I am pretty much guaranteed to have my visa granted or is there still a chance that I may be refused the visa? I have been told that there are no guarantees but if you were not going to get the visa I would have heard by now, or is it a case of I have done all they asked but my application is in a pile waiting to be checked and a final decision made? I am interested to hear thoughts on this, thanks Becky
  4. Hi bigboy01, I used an agent, my case wasn't overly complicated but I wanted to be sure that I had done everything properly, My OH used an agent for his visa and they were brilliant. I used Visa Bureaux and cant fault them, I had a few things that could have potentially caused problems but they helped with everything, they were very reasonably priced and I cant recommend them highly enough. While there are many on here that did the process themselves and that is great if you happy to do it, but in my case using an agent was defo the best way for me/us, good luck with everything and hope the process goes well for you Becky
  5. Hey Crowe, we did the same as you when we arrived, got a camper did a tour, we went over the top and round, started at Newcastle went up to Brisbane, cairns, then across, you will have an amazing time, really hope you enjoy.
  6. Hey Newbie, will defo post when I know, it seems that people are getting their grants after 6 months, but I guess you can never go with that, Im In WA, just outside Perth, are you on a tourist visa? I am until Jan then if I have not heard anything will need to extend. How are you finding Melbs? We came over 2 months ago, did a big tour, 11,000ks was amazing, let me know if you hear anything aswell, fingers crossed we hear soon
  7. Hey Guys, I am a May applicant, not heard anything yet, In Oz at the moment, fingers crossed for everyone waiting
  8. Hi there, it depends on the type of visa you go over on. If you go on a skilled visa then yes you would need to have the skills assessment done. After you know the visa you need to get to Oz, it is easier to find out exactly what you need application form wise. Hope that helps Becky
  9. Hi there, my partner already has his PR visa I am waiting fro mine to be granted. I plan to fly over with him fairly soon on a tourist visa and I will be travelling one way. I have found no problems with this. My reasoning is that I would not be fixed to a time to leave and if for some reason I need to go back to the UK I can arrange a flight to suit. Should my visa be granted while on the tourist visa I just have to leave to activate........ I hope that helps, sorry if I rambled Becky
  10. I have never seen my CO name on here, most people seem to have filled out al their forms themselves.... as you know I went through an agent, I wonder if that makes a difference, I am sure that I have to go through the agent rather than contact my CO direct..... it can be very confusing..... I need to get a tourist visa, contacted my agent she said to go on a visa that no longer available, should I contact my CO direct about it? I just dont know
  11. Great question I would be interested in this aswell Becky
  12. Does it matter what CO you have? Is there a difference between them? Just curious, mine is WP, anyone else got this one?
  13. Hey, I did form 80. I went from when I left school, im 35, I figured that if I give them everything then I'm covered..... I found it easier to go forward from leaving school rather than backwards, hope that helps Becky
  14. Hi there, We are shipping over a load of old photos aswell, I plan on wrapping them really well before putting them in the box, I know the shipping company uses this special wrapping paper or something that should protect them, I am not worried about them getting damaged, I am sure it will be fine Becky
  15. Hi Lucyh88, I applied at pretty much the same time as you. I plan to go over on a tourist visa also. I went through an agent because it was easier for me. She said it not a prob to go over on a tourist visa as long as they know, I have been told that I should go on a 626 visa ( I think it that one, cant remember off the top of my head) She never mentioned the evisa thing or the free one, how do you apply for that? Thanks Becky
  16. Huge Congrats hun, great news...... How long did your process take, if you dont mind me asking?
  17. Thanks Snifter, I knew I had ages to go yet, I read a few posts on here and it looked like people had received their decision and were waiting for the visa to be issued. I was just wondering. Thank you for your reply Becky
  18. Hi all, I have been keeping an eye on this thread, it is very informative, so thank you all for that. I have applied for my 309, got my case officer, done medicals and police checks, they have all the info they need...... I used an agent rather than do myself for various reason, I was wondering have any of you been told that you visa will be granted just not sure when? I have just been told that they will be in touch with a decision eigther yes or no in 8 - 9 months..... so far it only been 3 months since I lodged, I was just curious......... Becky
  19. Hi tootsie30, I have just finished my 309 / 100 visa application, AHC have had it for 13 weeks. I did not send mu police check and medical in with my application for all the reason stated above. I put the application in on 20 may, had a case officer 24 May and that was when they requested extra documents and police and medical. I would not worry about that at the moment. Get the application in and they will request it when they ready. I have to agree that it makes no difference as to time scale, AHC are very strict with processing times and "pride themselves on maintaining this" You are looking at 8 - 9 months, that standard wait, if it any sooner count yourself lucky......hope that helps, if I can help with anything else let me know Becky
