  1. Yeah, we are both taking rucksacks, its easier to get around, in stead of lugging a suitcase around. We are from England. You? You going with someone or going solo?
  2. Good, yeah we booked a hotel for 2 nights, to settle after long flight, we then looking for a camper, do a bit of travelling for a few weeks then look for work, il more than likely call around before i actually want to start so im sorted for when i stop 'travelling' and start working. ha! no way will i take 30kg, im taking 3 shirts, 2 pairs of shorts and....emm, a camera.
  3. Emirates, not sure if i just posed this twice
  4. We leave in 2 weeks, im just itching to pack, but no...its too early to pack, but i want too, i just cant wait I have managed to save about £6500 up, but im afraid it will just vanish before my eyes , gotta be clever about it, we are buying a campervan when we get out there, so its travel and accom in one, we are gonna travel, work, travel, that kind of thing!
  5. I just rang my bank up or building society if we're gonna be precise, and they said to withdraw money out from an ATM its a 2% charge and a base £1, and to use my card in shops, resturants etc its just a 2%, that's an awful lot and will add up a lot by the end of it, hmm
  6. ha! she stocked up now because she had all these 2 for 1 offers etc lol every little helps
  7. Can i ask, is there a limit to how much makeup you can take? I speak for my girl friend as her makeup bag weighs more than my travelling bag!!! i wish i was joking too lol
  8. I think the nationwide card has changed and you do get charged! I looked into the N & P card and looked perfect, its just you gotta maintain £5000 in your bank for the use of overseas transactions, no? i could be wrong, maybe I misread it? i would only transfer bit by bit anyway.
  9. hmm yeah I see, I'll have to nose around the web for a good trusting money transfer company
  10. From past experience, I wouldn't take everything with you! I literally packed everything! and boy, was that a mistake, I wore pretty much the same thing all the time, (switching from a couple of others to wash) my bag was the weight limit, like 20kg or 25 i cant remember, but it was heavy and when your walking around a town in Asia in the blistering heat, it was a killer. So this time round to Aus, im packing barely anything
  11. Not long till i leave for Australia, just wondering though, is it recommended to transfer all or even just bits of my money from my UK debit card Nationwide flex account or into my NAB account or just use my debit all the way until i start earning money into my NAB account? sorry if these sort of questions get asked a lot. my girl friend is opening up a Halifax clarity credit card to take, but i didn't advise it being a credit card because they are always bad news.
  12. mainland Oz for about 5 weeks, then do the same in Tasmania although we are hoping to find work in Tas so will be there a lot longer
  13. Leaving in Feb, start in Melbourne and doing a circle, going left to Adelaide then to Brisbane, heading back to Melbourne to drop off the van then heading to Tasmania to travel/work cant wait!!!
