Hi all Can anyone clarify how the visa actually works! We have a permanent Residency Visa for Perth which expires in August 2017. We activated the visa back in March 2013. If we decide to go in June 2017, what happens when the visa expires in the August? Do we need to extend it? Also how long do you have to live in Oz to obtain permanent residency?

So if me and my hubby validate it before the deadline what would happen to the children's visa? Would they lose it? Would it be possible to add them on at a later date? If so, how difficult would this be? Thanks

Another question re validation! Does everyone have to enter the country to validate the visa ie my husband and myself along with our 3 kids who are aged 7, 6 and 2 have been granted a 176 visa do we all need to go to Oz to validate or can me and my hubby go alone? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Our medicals were finalised on 10th August, I emailed my CO on Wednesday 15th to advise all medicals were finalised and we had our VISA Grant email on the morning of Friday 17th , it may be worth dropping your CO an email! Good luck!

Hi Our medicals are showing as finalised 10/08/12. On the doc checklist it still showing as requested? Do I need to email my CO to advise medicals are finalised or will they deal with it automatically? I know it has only been 5 days but I can't relax until we get the actual visa granted!

Sorry for my ignorance, haven't really looked into this much as yet. How long does my dog need to be in quarantine for, I'm hoping to take her to WA she is 10 years old.

Case officer allocated today! problem with uploaded documents, she has advised that she cannot read them as they are too small, they are Jpeg docs, any suggestions on how to rectify this? Would I be best just to email them directly?

Hi Yes you can attach the documents at any time by going through the official immigration site choose the option attach documents to a lodged application.

Hi all Visa lodged 26 June 2012! Happy days................. Can anyone help me with the uploading of documents, I have tried to convert to PDF docs but when I upload onto systems, it says file size too big?

Where does it tell you what forms are required to be uploaded for the 176 visa, I have looked at the application form and it seems pretty straight forward there is no mention of what is required, does it tell you once it has been submitted? Or have I missed something!

Hi Steven Did you do an apprenticeship through BG? How many years experience do you have after apprenticeship was awarded? You may have enough points to apply for the 175/176 visa.

Is it just the main applicant who needs a PCC check or does your partner need one too?

Excuse my ignorance, what is a PCC check? We are awaiting state sponsorship from WA then will be lodging 176 visa application, I have had a look at the application and it seems pretty straightforward, do they ask for additional documents once you have a case officer such as P60's etc or are these submitted with the original application?

Thanks guys! Submitted it on Friday so we will wait and see, don't actually need the points to apply for a visa but was thinking the 176 visa processing time would be quicker than the 175.x

Does anyone know what the current processing times are for WA state sponsorship?
