Hi all Can anyone clarify how the visa actually works! We have a permanent Residency Visa for Perth which expires in August 2017. We activated the visa back in March 2013. If we decide to go in June 2017, what happens when the visa expires in the August? Do we need to extend it? Also how long do you have to live in Oz to obtain permanent residency?

So if me and my hubby validate it before the deadline what would happen to the children's visa? Would they lose it? Would it be possible to add them on at a later date? If so, how difficult would this be? Thanks

Another question re validation! Does everyone have to enter the country to validate the visa ie my husband and myself along with our 3 kids who are aged 7, 6 and 2 have been granted a 176 visa do we all need to go to Oz to validate or can me and my hubby go alone? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

I'm interested on your thoughts in the education system, you say Oz is way behind the Uk, in what way? Can you give me some specifics as this is a major concern of mine. Thanks Cara

Hi mark We hope to move to Perth Feb 2013, we are looking at Aveley/Ellenbrook area, think it is about 40 mins drive from both beach and city.

Hi Our medicals were finalised on 10th August, I emailed my CO on Wednesday 15th to advise all medicals were finalised and we had our VISA Grant email on the morning of Friday 17th , it may be worth dropping your CO an email! Good luck!

Hi Our medicals are showing as finalised 10/08/12. On the doc checklist it still showing as requested? Do I need to email my CO to advise medicals are finalised or will they deal with it automatically? I know it has only been 5 days but I can't relax until we get the actual visa granted!

Sorry for my ignorance, haven't really looked into this much as yet. How long does my dog need to be in quarantine for, I'm hoping to take her to WA she is 10 years old.

Case officer allocated today! problem with uploaded documents, she has advised that she cannot read them as they are too small, they are Jpeg docs, any suggestions on how to rectify this? Would I be best just to email them directly?
