  1. I sympathise Somgirl. A cockroach ran over my bare foot while I was driving once. It completely freaked me out and I nearly took out the cars in front and behind me trying to get it off me. Never drove with bare feet again. Urgh.
  2. That's how I've always liked to think of you.
  3. I've bounced around like a rubber ball myself and while it can leave you a bit cash-strapped at times I've never regretted any of the decisions. They made sense at the time and I always gained something from it. Good luck with the visa and all the formal stuff. And try to be as happy as possible where you are for now. Once you've learned that skill you can be happy anywhere
  4. I've spent a lot of years in Brisbane and when I was younger I considered it to be a good place to retire or raise a family. I kept leaving for some big city excitement. Think about how relaxed you want your life to be as you can be almost horizontal in Brissy a fair bit of the time.
  5. I believe you've both spent long periods in Geelong. Once that's understood everything else just falls into place
  6. Always so rewarding having a chat with you Dom. :goofy:
  7. Yes, oh wise one, but what about Chris?
  8. Touche! From what I've read of yours I kind of think of you as the mirror image of Wendee.
  9. I guess boring the arse off people is a small price to pay for the freedom of speech.
  10. Aren't dogs put down once they've attacked someone? Or even another dog? So are you all saying that this should be stopped too? I actually have no opinion either way but I'm curious as to why it's right for some creatures and not others.
  11. Even less than countries that don't speak english? I hadn't realised that miming was so huge in the UK
  12. Gotta go. I'll be back later for some more pointless squabbling.
  13. So you don't get it. That explains a great deal.
  14. You've proven yourself to be just as defensive. But keep trotting out the rhetoric. By sheer weight of repetition you might convince someone else that it's a trait peculiar to us alone.
  15. You don't get the difference between stating something as fact and expressing an opinion? The occasional use of IMO/I think would help. Then again, I guess none of us really knows how we come across.
  16. Hey Acidglitter, welcome to the forum. I think it's quite useful to read this stuff as long as you can keep it in perspective as just someone's opinion. People are unhappy here for a huge range of reasons (not all to do with the lack of unicorns) and I think unrealistic expectations plays a part. It this forum helps you come here with a balanced view then it's served a purpose. I've been happy in both countries and I hope you will be too.
  17. I think I'm going to start quoting you whenever Australians are referred to as arrogant. You are the case in point that the UK can rival us. It's not special 'by any measure' huh? You really rate your own opinion VERY highly. (can't drag myself away from MBTTUK. it's like staring at a car wreck and not being able to drive on)
  18. I think so. Saw one riding a unicorn once. Course I was bladdered at the time. Can't be sure.
  19. All you're ever presenting is your own reality and yet it's presented as fact. Someone mentioning the negativity is now 'wanting fluffy koalas cavorting with unicorns' are they? How patronising. Crap, just realised I posted on MBTTUK which I try to avoid. Best be off.
  20. You're hilarious. Exactly how are straight white men discriminated against? Must be quite subtle seeing as they are running the country and pretty much everything else. Did Cameron and Clegg bust through some sort of glass ceiling while I wasn't watching?
  21. I think I remember seeing that picture on a billboard when I went to Geelong. Isn't he the Mayor?
  22. So exciting. I hope Australia greets you well
