  1. As Jules2409 has above we used go walkabout for a 21 day family policy until we registered for Medicare

  4. Hi I used one for my son when we fly with Qantas he was 19 months at the time and it was the best money I have ever spent. I had no problems with tray's or tv being obscured. He even managed to sleep the majority of our 2 night flights Heathrow to Hong Kong to Melbourne. I would highly recommend. Safe flight
  5. Hi we used pickfords too in the north east and really wouldn't recommend them, I have heard good reports from Robinson's and John masons.
  6. Medicare is sufficient for your visa that's what we have and research extensively. Note to self check before posting *should be policy !!!!!

Hi for health insurance I used walkabout travel for a 21 day policy (they do a pool icy to cover people emigrating) which started the day we arrived which covered us until we could regiter for medicare, we already had I flights booked. I then supplied the health/travel insurance certificate as evidence. Hope this helps cheers s

  9. Ii got mine unlocked before i left by t mobile i have an iphone 4, as above i have the telstra $30 sim and everything works great no problems with internet.
  10. Oh yes so completely normal we did the flight seven months ago with an 8 year old a 4 year old and a 19 month old and went pretty smoothly good luck x

  12. I got a 21 day policy from walkabout travel insurance that covered me and my family for the visa to be issued and our journey too Australia. Then registered for Medicare when we arrived.
  13. We arrived in jan 2012 and had no problems with Telstra had only been in the country 1 week home phone and Internet $88 I also have a mobile $30 a month free calls and internet.
  14. Hi I used a company called walkabout travel who do insurance for 21 days quick covers you while you travel and once you arrive, which gives you a chance to enrol in Medicare. Good luck
  15. Victoria is exempt from the high school fees for tempory visa holders we are on a 457 visa, as mentioned above the fees vary per school.

    Hi limeade i also send mine girls to catholic school they allow you to do different payment plans I have opted for monthly direct debit which is about $113 a month you need to pay student levy fee up front so for both girls that was about $400 and that covers all their books pens etc so you don't need buy them anything else just uniform.     Hi we too move here in Jan and really like it as the above post says mt Helen an mt clear are both really nice areas about 15 mins out of the centre my kids are 8 5 and 1 and there is lots to do. We have found the people to be very friendly and helpfull since arriving. We live in ballarat central and really like it. Good luck let me know if you want more info
  19. Hi we also have a 457 we got car finance with no deposit REGO included by the garage. We bought a lancer 2009 it also has 1 year warranty we pay about $440 a month and $24 a month insurance for me and my husband. Hope this helps
  20. Our 457 took 16 days over Christmas and new year but we entered Australia with out it be in place good luck.
  21. I wouldn't recommend pickfords our goods were packed 20th dec and we are still waiting !!!!!! Our goods have. Een in Australia 3 weeks too good luck with your choice I have heard good things about robinsons.
