6 weeks in and have had no rudeness at all! It's one of my highlights so far to live somewhere the people are not rude and ignorant.....sure beats home for me. As for the weather at the moment is just shocking!!!

We've been here for 5 and a bit weeks and Melbourne really does seem to have everything!! Things to do.....beach, city (if its your thing), the hills (Emerald is lovely), so many choices for food, if you can't shop in Melb and it's suburbs you never will! I've been surprised by the amount of traffic, but I guess you expect that in a massive city and surrounding areas. Berwick is really nice!! Great fish and chip shop (very important), Bar 81 (good food and bands), Moods (awesome cake), has most of the banks, shopping centre and probably more we haven't discovered yet. You'd be well positioned for the beach or the hills and good road links. Haven't been to Perth, but read up on here as I remember reading about folks finding it hard to secure work, but saying that there will no doubt loads of folks who have had no problems. I guess the climate over there will be totally different too. Cheers Dale

We did itemised mobile phone bills and highlighted the calls ringing each other.....think I did a years worth. Also, travel insurance policies, flight bookings etc Information overload was my tactic! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Hi folks, See these guys on the tenancy agreements in Melbourne. Anyone used them to connect up Gas, Elect and Water? I'm not doing internet or tv with, if we do use them. Opinions please. Thanks Dale

A final update!! I arranged for the delivery of our boxes on the 13th July (2 days after we arrived) and they (once again) turned up at the time they said they would. The guys helped me get them in the garage and had a nice chat about Melbourne! We've opened them all up and nothing seems to be damaged, bikes and golf clubs survived the trip!! So all in all I can only give positive feedback for Sevenseas. Cheers Dale

Hi John, All we had to do was take the pedals off. They secured them in the van and then boxed them up back at their warehouse. I'll update once we get there.....12 days until we fly Last time I checked, the boat was bobbing its way to Vietnam! Cheers Dale

We opened our account with NAB and got no transaction fees through them, wasn't aware of the PIO thing. Can't vouch for other companies but we sent our first batch over a few weeks ago with Moneycorp and everything was very straight forward, no complaints. As for the rates....pah!

Hi the rates you see on exchange websites etc is the bank rate. You'll never achieve this rate, it is usually approx 0.25 below.
