  2. Ur OH is clearly only thinking of himself....firstly saying he's going to Canada whatever and now Oz. I'd be worried how much support he is going to give u if u do go. A tricky decision, think u've got to go with what suits u at the end of the day.
  3. You can only get the extra allowance if you are flying one way with an unused visa I believe. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?crgmow
  4. Hi, not sure of the taxes side of it, but we have shipped our stuff to oz with sevenseas worldwide. So far have found their service good and u can choose how many boxes etc, they cater to ur needs rather than a cubic metreage. Their website is quite handy as u'll be able to get a quite there and then. Good luck. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?1hmoov
  5. Haha yeah you'll be able to spot us on the 9th July, heathrow, 10.15pm to Melbourne. Jane will have really red eyes, I'll be hugging her whilst looking like I've just seen a ghost/oh god it's really here and maybe throw in the odd look of excitement that we're finally on our way!! --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?hznjcv
  6. We're flying out in July in economy on the a380 and couldn't pick seats on the upper deck. Flew with then to Vietnam, great service an food was good too. Also flew to NZ with emirates, the main leg (Dubai - Sydney) was on the a380 too which was fine but the other legs on older planes were cramped and pretty uncomfortable (I'm 6'3"), the service and meals were good too. Have to agree with the others Changi if so much nicer than Dubai. We've booked a 6 hour block in the hotel and we're only laying over for 8 hours. Be worth it have a shower and a snooze. Think it works out at about £45 per 6hr block. We've decided (unless there are some stupidly cheap prices elsewhere) to use Singapore when we come back to the uk to visit, may as well commit to one airlines points system! --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?gzlvbs
  7. We're flying with them on the 9th......not long now --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?ipe0bc
  8. Blogger is great, once you get your head round it you can send posts straight from your phone, clever stuff! --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?rrx22b
  9. As all of the above, plus I put it recent holiday travel insurance docs, a ferry booking. We went over board with itemised phone bills showing us ringing each other. Transferring of money between our individual accounts along with the joint account statements. We were a little worried as we lived in my house so all the bills were in my name, but had no question or queries from them. Go for information overload!! Good luck!! 10. Hi, thought I would give a bit of an update. Our 14 large tea chest, 2 bikes, golf bag and painting are bobbing their way to Melbourne through Sevenseas. I've been really happy and impressed so far with the service they have offered. Once you have sorted how many boxes etc you need and paid your deposit, you will get your flat pack boxes delivered with a huge roll of bubble wrap, markers pen and and plenty of tape. You will be given an hours delivery slot (the day before) which in our case they turned up in the first 10 mins. There is no time limit on how long you can keep your boxes, before sending. The instructions for packing and customs is pretty easy to follow (compared to a visa application anyway!), there is a lot of paperwork, but you can see why they want to know so much. All this paperwork is put in the supplied envelope and taped to box one. You can either use their online service to arrange collect or call then up. This is my only gripe. I couldn't get the online form to work, so had to call, but the person on the phone didn't have the best grasp of English. So my numerous questions were a little difficult to explain, but we got there in the end. As with the delivery of the boxes, you get a one hour time slot for collection. The guy turned up early, in a van that fitted on the drive (great - less carrying!) and was again helpful with my questions. Within 24 hours they had sent the final invoice, which you can pay online, over the phone, through your bank etc. I left it a week and called to check and they were already loaded and on their way. You can log into your account and get the vessel name, date it will arrive at destination and estimated time before you can arrange your delivery. Overall it has been far less stressful than I imagined and (as long as our stuff makes it) I would have no issues recommending using this company. The insurance options are a little strange, but we figured it our and you have the flexibility of increasing the values for certain options etc. Anyway, hope this is of help to some of you. Happy shipping! We're flying 10 weeks so it's all getting a bit real!! Cheers Dale Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Hi Dave, Sounds like a plan! I'm 33 and play off 21 (on a good with plenty of time down the range!). I'll give u a shout when arrive! Packing boxes with the golf on the tv as I text......think Tigers got this in the bag! Cheers Dale
  12. Hi folks, We're moving to Cheltenham in July.......love my golf, have been concerned whether I'd be able to find someone to play with. Be more than happy to meet up with anyone wanting a game once we are settled and the clubs arrive....obviously! Cheers Dale Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. We got a quote from PSS of £860 . This included, 2 bikes, golf kit, power tools, ironing boards and 20 boxes. Didn't think was two bad as replacing our bikes like for like would be much dearer that this, that was our reasoning on it. We were going to take all the little bits that will mount up to replace, kitchen items, linen etc
