  1. Just google Form 80 and you'll soon find it, as others have said it's tedious and ask the same questions that you've already answered multiple times before. I've no idea if they cross check these forms but I made sure that they tallied up. The real pain in the backsideis declaring every country that you've been to in the last 10 years with dates!!
  2. I went over to Oz for my sisters wedding 12/12/12 at 12o'clock, she got married at a winery in the hills around Ellenbrook area. Knowing my sister and her husband it will have been very good value, they had the whole place for the day. The food was fantastic and the wine was free! If you're interested drop me a PM and I'll get some more details for you.
  3. That looks like a very nice motor, if it was in Perth and we were in August, then I'd be very interested! Take a free bump instead
  4. It's all in my sig below, just over 4 weeks from start to finish but I'd spent about 6 weeks gathering evidence for it! I got an AQF III for my endeavours!
  5. I needed replace my passport as I washed (like a numpty). As previously said the immi site was vague about who to contact so I emailed everything to the team who did my visa. It took around 8 weeks if memory serves me correctly.
  6. Maybe he should have interviewed me, 25 minutes and all done and dusted:cool: The chap who interviewed me told me it would take between 20 mins and 2 hrs depending on how I did. He also told me I'd aced it so if yours was a short interview I'm pretty certain it means you sailed through it.
  7. I've just searched and got this: Applicants who lack internet access or want advice should call the Passport Advice Line on 0011 44 300 222 0000. The service operates from 8am to 8pm, UK time. Alternatively, applicants with email access can contact: overseasNewportCCC@hmpo.gsi.gov.uk. Hope that helps
  8. I have no idea but surely your agent should be instructing you what to do. If they cannot help you then I'd be looking for a new agent after asking for any monies paid to be returned!
  9. Misguided I may be but I'll guarantee you thank the term "money is no object" wasn't uttered when Cumbria or South Yorkshire was awash. A dam wall was nearly washed away is South Yorkshire, I think that may count as serious damage, did we see the troops on the streets? No the North/ South divide doesn't exist does it?
  10. We're sat on Yorkshire and whilst we've had a few very windy days that's been about it. It's hard to believe that a few hundred miles South they are having a horrid time, some places have been underwater for weeks. The Tories have decided to act now that the Thames valley has been affected though, typical MP's (not just Tories) if it affects London or the areas immediately surrounding it then they'll find the money to sort it!
  11. I have a relative who is a solicitor and he certified all our docs for a bottle of white wine . He stamped the face of each document and signed them, he also swore at me quite a lot when he rang to say he had finished as there were than many docs!
  12. About £1k + $500 I think I was quoted
  13. If you're asked to fill in Form 80 then every one on the visa application over 18 (I think) has to fill one in. A bit painful but most of it is just duplicated from previous forms, except the bit about which countries have you travelled to and when in the last 10 years!
  14. As your son is an apprentice he is therefore working and not a dependent so he would not be able to travel on your visa (if you get one)AFAIK. What apprenticeship is he doing by the way if he is 16 and halfway through it? An apprenticeship is usually 4 years long (3 of those attending college)
  15. I washed my passport (like a pillock) and had to get a new after my visa was grated. Not sure which form it was but I emailed it to the same team that issued my visa and a few weeks later I got an email back saying all swapped over!
  16. I am a Landlord in the UK (small time) and have decided to sell up before we move. In the 10 years I've been a landlord I've only had one bad tenant who refused to pay. It took an age to get them out and a small fortune in solicitors. The whole time this was within a mile of where I lived, imagine that at the other side of the world.
  17. Can't answer your questions but do you have full aircon? Not just for the cab but for the whole motorhome because it'll be hot in there if not.
  18. I had a 12 month visa issued in 2008 and I could stay for 12 months, in fact I could have left the country and come back in on the last day of the visa and stayed another 12 months. I'm not sure which visa it was as I washed my passport
  19. Hi Shelly, That timeline doesn't take into account the 3 months it took me to gather and collate all the information I needed! As for carpenter/ joiner, I'm qualified in the UK as both. I have worked mainly as a carpenter since my apprenticeship but I'm quite comfortable in the workshop, I was advised to apply for carpenter and not carpenter/ joiner as I didn't have enough experience in joinery. Once you have your visa you can work as either from what I can gather much like the UK. I knew absolutely nothing about scaffolding and excavations and told the assessor this, scaffolding here is done by others and I don't know the Aussie rules yet but I'd obviously have to learn them PDQ. When the assessor introduced himself he told me that he had seen all my evidence and that i was more qualified and experienced than him but we still had to do the interview. He had worked in the UK, which helped as we talked a common language. He explained that the interview would last between 20 minutes and 2 hours and that he had a check list of boxes he had to tick. We would be discussing how I would complete certain tasks and the more detail I went in to, then the more likely it was I mention something on his check list. Once the list was all ticked off that was the end of the assessment. I was very pleased that after 25 minutes he told me we had discussed everything he needed to and that I would get a email in the coming days informing me that I had passed. It was VERY easy but I have been doing it for 25 years so I should be able to explain how I do it, if anyone has worked as a joiner/ carpenter for more than 5 years they should pass. Hope this helps Edit: I'm in Yorkshire and had to drive to Glasgow on a Monday morning for 9am for the Skype interview, either that or Oxford St in London.
  20. Has he thought about doing his NVQ lvl3? I would worry about the level of earnings as long as he can prove he has been working 20+hrs per week in his trade. Not all businesses make huge profits. I pay an accountant every year to show that I have made the least amount possible:wink: Edit: I was told by one agent that I had little chance of passing the trade assessment because as a self employed carpenter working for small companies, some for only a few days. I had no idea who I'd worked for over the last 10 years, it was literally 50+ different companies, some had disappeared, gone bust or just had no inclination to help. I also didn't have my papers of proof of my apprenticeship, I got copies of my papers quite easily and a certificate of which ever body it was that over looked apprenticeships to prove I was time served. I wrote a stat dec with a lot of detail and rolled all the little companies into one as working for myself which essentially it was. I had no problem. I think agents tend to talk up their services. I used a chap in Melbourne to help with my trade assessment and if you want his contact details then drop me a PM. He assessed all my evidence, he told me what I needed to add and whether it would, in his professional opinion succeed. It did!
  21. Shelly is bang on the money with the above. I did the technical interview and it was so easy it's unbelievable. If you work as a carpenter here then you will have no problems, it only took 25 minutes. My timeline shows the time scales

    Form 80

I spent days ringing round mates to see when and where we'd been on "lads" holidays, one lad remembered (after a couple of hours thinking) the exact day we went and returned from Amsterdam because of Liverpool winning the Champions League :err:. Another remembered that we were in Magaluf when Amir Khan was put on his backside for the first time so google did the rest. Facebook helped when sorting dates for holidays. After all that I read that people were writing in the notes that they couldn't find exact dates :arghh:
  23. In my very limited knowledge I think 1st childs children qualify for "citizen by decent" but 2nd childs won't! They only go back 1 generation AFAIK
