  1. Thanks FedUp - nothing in AU House seems to make much sense - straightforward or not! I woudn't mind but we had to do all this when we first came to the UK to get my Husbands permanent resident visa!! You'd think why would we do all that if we weren't genuine!!! Think the weekly calls are a good idea - if you can get hold of your CO - mine never answers his phone!!! Hope you get yours quicker!!!
  2. Hiya I would send whatever you have to prove you were in contact. Definately send your yahoo time - do you have any e-mails you kept? Or records of home phone bills which were itemised? I wouldn't worry about the meds or police checks yet - they seem to work through the applications bit by bit. For example they requested meds, uk police checks and oz police checks for me, which I sent. Then once they had received them they requested an OZ police check for my husband - which really annoyed me as we could have done it at the same time as mine. However, I think they were obviously working through my application, and then my sponsers and only if they are satisfied with the first stage do they look further - if that all makes sense!!!:goofy:
  3. I know pretty ridiculous really. I had an e-mail from my CO today saying that there is a large volume of applications at the moment - Blah, blah, blah! That sometimes it takes longer than 3 months (Try 4 months!) and that he would let me know on July 1st if my application can be finalised! I e-mailed back saying I had booked flights and handed my notice in as if i hadn't I wouldn't be able to leave until after Xmas! Wait and see what he says to that!!! Applpication sent 26/2/2010, meds requested 28/2/2010, meds and police checks sent 19/3/2010, another police check sent 26/4/2010, Still waiting!!!!!:goofy:
  4. I also thought that our case would be fairly straightforward - married 5 years, together 8 with 2 children but have been waiting 16 weeks now! It doesn't seem to be the case!!
  5. From what i understand as long as you are offshore anywhere when your visa is granted it doesn't matter where as long as you let your CO know about your travel plans to Aus!!
  6. Officially they say 3-4 months from original receipt of application. However, I wouldn't hold your breath. Some peoples being processed in 3 months but lots of us are still waiting over 4 months for them!!!:arghh:
  7. I am going to phone my CO today and see what he says! Will let you know!!
  8. Oh Peach you must be so patient, I would be totally ropeable by now! But you are obviously a good person! I hope you get yours with bells on!!!!!
  9. So do you think it is worth me telling mine that we have booked our flights for August?? And I've handed my notice in at work?? And we've sold our house???
  10. Yes can't bloomin believe it!! No wonder processing takes so much longer if they are always on holiday!! I encountered this problem today as I am getting really impatient and thought I would phone my CO!! It's been 16 weeks now!:arghh:
  11. Ah in which case that really sucks for people who have applied afterwards! I am hoping to get the 100? Has anyone else got this recently?
  12. Sorry am probably really naive but what did they change about the 100 in mid-March? I was hoping to be granted the 100 as well and I also applied in February! Sorry if I have got the wrong end of the stick, but they keep changing the rules and I don't have enough time to keep up with it all!!
  13. Ok I have given in and e-mailed my CO to ask when he is likely to finalise my visa as it's been 15 weeks now! I was fine until I read lots of other people have recently got theirs and am feeling a bit left out!!! But at least they seem to be moving again!!
  14. No I haven't been yet as I thought I would wait until 4 months and then start pestering. Our flights are in August so it's not too desperate yet!!! Does it help to tell your CO when your flights are?
  15. I am so pleased for all those who have received their visas! We are coming up to 4 months and waiting!! I honestly can't believe how long it is taking! I was naive enough to think ours was a straightforward case and would have been sorted earlier! Hopefully we will behearing soon!
