We both have come to a decision to move back. As we get older we have realised it’s time to go all our families live in uk we have no family here. Our only son was born in Australia and moved to uk 18 months ago and has no plans to return. Australia has been good to us and great place to live but as we all get older our priorities change. My question is we were both born in the uk and lived there for 24years before we emigrated to Australia we let our British passports run out can we fly into uk and apply for British passports later on?.

Hi Peter we live on the sunshine coast queensland. My husband is from BANBRIDGE McInerney I know everyone knows everyone in Banbridge. We were over there in Dec/Jan for holiday. Things have really gone down hill over there. Best of luck in Townsville

PITY THE FOOL there is nothing wrong with Melbourne we owe everything to Melbourne. We arrived in melbourne with 4 cases and $15 in our account when my oh started work. We both worked hard and had fantastic opportunitys. But we always yearned for queensland. Our time came 3 years ago to move and we both thought now is the time.

Fantastic place for kids my son had a bike in melbourne and never road it here he rides everyday to school meeting friends. I love the wheather here and the beaches. I take our dog a walk on the beach everyday. You can go out and not lock your door leave something on the front lawn and would still be there in morning. It is a slower pace of life. We have found our wee piece of heaven here....

We moved from Melbourne to sunshine coast 3 years ago and never looked back. My son was 13 at the time we knew we had to make the move now before he got any older. He settled into a new school and made friends. It is like emigrating all over again we had to make new friends again but it didnt take long. We now live in Mooloolaba and my son goes to Mountain Creek high school. I also got a job at the school which is great I am of all the school holidays. My oh had family in Melbourne but not enough to make us stay. Yes it does get humid up here for a few weeks in Jan/feb but the rest of the year is lovely. Amanda
