I applied 27th and questioned why no test date yet and today after calling them given 31st October sucks as hoped it be much sooner and possibly a date for citizenship this year my councils last one is 1st nov.

So what did you ask or say yo get different date? i applied online 27th June not too long after you got emailed an appointment/test had been made and would be emailed shortly. never heard anything called a few weeks back did not really get anywhere and called today again they said application was sent to Melbourne and should have been wa??? i questioned the letter by email about test I got on 1st July,lady called someone up and said earliest they have for me is 31st October. i had hoped to at least get ceremony/citizenship this year but with that date no chance of that would be interested to know how you get it sooner or I'm sure there are loads trying the same thing. what brings up dates sooner people not being able yo go? Surely most go on the dates given?

When finally 3 hrs plus waiting for call back talked to a lady who was very helpful more helpful than i have had in past. I explained why i not got a date for test etc when i got a letter saying it had been made. She looked up and noticed this and said she find out and put me on hold and called up another department. For some reason they said my application ended up in Melbourne if reasons behind it not sure as she does not know or they will never tell us why when it should have been for wa. Not sure if this delayed my test date or has made any difference but was hoping cause of getting such letter on the 1st july and not hearing anything date of test btought forward. Guy she talked to said he could book me in she said ok if she did it so she arranged it there and then. 31st oct which i was a bit unhappy with so i can count myself out of citizenship this year as last date at my council is i think start of nov gutted. The other test date she had was later again. But least it official and not wondering when or why not got a date. But that will be 4 months of a wait for test appointment i suppose the cermonony will be just as long. Surely they can do these quicker or add extra dates for cermony as one date in nov and none dec dont understand that.

Calling them up again waiting for call back 2 hr 25 mins still waiting for call? Last time i called did not get call back option and waited 1hr 45 mins and wasted so much credit. When they call you back they dont try again so sitting about here wondering am i going to be called back. If they do probably just say some crap to to get me off there back. But i want to know why sent a later 1st july to say appointment is made and time and date be sent shortly when its not. Doing my head in you would think compared to visas etc it be quicker etc to get these done.

Im talking about test/appointment I get a letter by email on 1st July saying appointment has been made and will be emailed shortly of date and time 3 weeks on I'm still waiting they been as well if they never sent such letter by email. but yet as said someone else I read on here just applied the other week and has test date already something ain't right?

No just asked it they had a date as got a letter saying so on 1st july and they would know that.

I just wonder though if this is normal they sent this to you or did but then maybe noticed its busy and cant give date yet. Last time i called the guy who answered phone told me to hold and came back and said no appointment made yet this was a couple of weeks after getting the email

Anyone ever had a letter sent by email to say appointment had been made and to say another email be sent soon with time and date? Is this some random email they send out, as I called them a few weeks after I got this thinking maybe my email got lost or they forgot to send to be told it's not even booked lol. why send it? and apart from the remember and take your original docs etc it said send pcc within 28 days of getting the letter which I did. i got this on the 1st July and I'm hearing there is like 4. Months wait in Perth for test/appointment but why would they sent it so early and request the pcc. Not only that I noticed someone on here just applied last week or so and already have appointment date? i applied on 27th June,got notification same day and the letter which was in my junk emails to say appointment was made but yet I'm still waiting. i can understand if there is a bit of a wait but telling you something by letter and nothing done seems weird. keep checking my account and online each day but starting to thing what's the point. would have been nice to have got in on the last few dates of this year for ceremony but really can't see this happening.

Wondering how long it took you guys from submitting application to getting test/appointment date,I had an email few days after submitting my application saying I get a date very soon but that was a week ago now lol. in that email letter it said about sending my police cert to nearest office I have heard don't post drop it off,get a certified copy which you can't to just post it. i don't have an issue with posting but strange how they want it within 28 days of me getting the letter? when they have a scanned copy? And yes I do happen to have a spare copy but some others might now would be an expensive carry on if it did get list. Cant understand why they cant just wait till test date when I need to take all other docs. so express might be the way to go it's fast,tracked and insured right?

Yes i know sent it off see what happens just annoys me you ask for uk and oz pics and give all same and there is a slight difference in whats required by uk standards. But they might just say its ok,i moaned about it to go at post office said not had issues before so lets see the outcome as they don't give you a guide on photos for nothing and the head size is slightly over in what uk as for. Lets see

No they require 5 weeks to get all your docs etc from applying online and wondering if you had to send more or was issues if the clock was still ticking.

I can live with the folded birth certs just be nice to keep as i got them,im more stressing on the passport pics not being right. The guy was told several times at post office it was for uk and oz passports. Had trouble getting the right shot being so young,gave it 20 mins and came back and tried again. By this time only him and another guy in post office the queue was near out the door but hey small p.o. anyway. He checked and said he may have one thats ok give it a go? I said its for uk and oz passport as it was on one sheet and looked all same ti me. Now this is a guy who probably does lots of uk passports and others,they probably used to do the applications from here at one point. He said just a few mm difference lol. But is the uk not really fussy with these photos im sure they are. Looking at both uk and oz photos the overall size is same so that should be ok. Its the face size they say is the difference and it looks like im over by a 1mm on the face to what uk say is max. Ok the babys head is slightly to one side but it says thats ok on the site and even says under 1 yrs eyes can be shut,he has one slightly closed. Looking at the uk photos on our passports including daughters one from 2012 the overall size is even smaller unless they have changed it since then or cause the passport agency makes the rules if they want they just trim as i swear the cut more off than should be. Im just over a week since applying online and you get 5 weeks to complete,so 4 weeks left probably take a week to get there and god knows does it sit around until they look at it. What if they was not happy with pic and ask for another does this 5 weeks still countdown? As by time you got new pics had countersignature to sign again post back etc it be close to that time. There is no rush to get the passport but be fine if we did as i can get my birth cert back and use for something else. I talked with a few people on social media in my area and they went to a photoshop and had there pics done there. But like me they all same,but says was accepted with passport agency uk. Is there anywhere who takes these pics right size as asked for or are we fobed off with ones you get for oz passports? I have a good mind to go back there and tell them to take again at there cost on whatvi asked for. As it sure going to be a right hassle if its knocked back. I maybe worrying to much about it but when they give you 5 weeks is this just to get all your stuff there? Or is the clock still ticking as would hate to lose the fee paid due to guy in post office saying it be fine. But as said not just that hassle of doing pics all again and resending. Itcm cant be that hard for them to have made them the right sizes. Anyone else had pics taken post office or photo places and all being same. Its like he made them more suited for oz passport and not uk or at least could have met in the middle so is accepted from both.

Send what folded one back when you buy or to date any birth certs i have purchased came unfolded and in a4. Yes im sure you can still scan and make copies but with the fold line along middle. Not an issue but it is good to keep then in a4. And my question was if i paid a bit more and posted in a4 envelope if when they completed your passport and returned the birth certs if same sent a4 or smaller envelope to cut costs. As see no point sending from oz in bigger envelope when they just return folded be pointless and the reason it was send a4 size to begin with. I suppose i could always down the line get extra birth certs and keep the unfolded copie as they are and use folded copy for stuff like this. If it had been certified copies would not care any less

I was thinking of sending my docs only two birth certs in a4 envelope but is there any point just to save folding it,but do they return the folded one the send your passport back as will see no point then? Has anyone recently had there uk passport and docs return and was the docs folded. As it maybe cheaper to post that in larger envelope

Would that have been registered international post? I'm sure looking online that's about price,do Aus post take responsibility it it does not make it to uk? As don't see if have insurance cover? But this was one I had been looking at,others have been paying more than double do they want passports ASAP or just feel other methods are more secure offer tracking and insurance.

Can some confirm i hope in right as form is left with someone to countersign the part it ask to if i remeber declaration you sign a name which is applicant well being that applicant is 5 weeks old i signed my name and asks after that relationship to passport holder ne father and name. I wonder if this name goes on his passport? As my daughters passport did not require it but thats over 3 yrs ago now. Im pretty sure its right but be silly if it was send and not right.

Yes but looking on site express post is most expensive good if they arrive safe over there but i believe when they send them back take no responsibility for lose of docs? So me paying loads to send just two docs and they could get lost on way back. Two birth certs,photos and declaration form is all im sending. But still pay same amount.

I suppose i just need to ask im sure the uk side is covered sending stuff back as was done when doing application but its from here to uk,only having what i have just wondered best option. As said if it got lost on way it would be $100+ to replace birth certs but who is to say it can get lost way over as not sure what method they use.

And can you add insurance as sending birth certs if i had to replace if lost would be min $100. But in saying that when they send your docs back from uk are they covered as could get lost on way back. It probably be good both ways but dont fancy spending $100+ to get them again.

I have only two original birth certs to send,two passport photos and the declaration form what do you recommend to use for postage to yk,the courier im sure would be a bit extreme and i think very expensive and not as if i have tons of docs. Yes i suppose the two birth certs are important but wondered what best as not sure if much difference in price: Pack and track international or registered post international.

So how is it going guys with this thread in regards to passport for child oz and uk passport,I'm about to do same I'm not finding the uk passport one great to understand on what they require me as supporting docs. Going through the doc list slowly it asks: Completed dec form easy enough. Two photos again all good. Full birth or adoption cert showing child and parents details all good his oz birth cert has all this. For dual nationals a full copy uncanceled non british/overseas territories citizen passport relating to you (this be child as his passport) ignore this as he has no oz passport yet. If you are applying from a country that is not the country where you where born please provide: passport or travel docs and blah blah been answered already on here ignore this as its his first passport. This is the one that gets me what are they asking for here: Parents documents whats it asking for here in short my birth cert? If applicant born or adopted in the uk -parents or adoptive parents docs i should ignore this part as born in oz. If applicant born or adopted outside uk-parents or adoptive parents docs: The passport you entered the country from from which you are applying or any non british passport held(is this asking for my passport which is a uk one)? And im sure been answered already if so no longer need to send can just send certified copys now. If the birth cert you provide you provide has not been issued by a british embassy,high com or consulate showing parents details also provide: If born on or after 2 jan 1983 also please provide : One of your parents full birth certs and if its your father his marriage cert to your mum. Now on what read there its asking for my passport and birth cert right? Is this asking for marriage cert also? And when it asks for my passport and birth cert does mum need to supply as well or just me as im filling in forms. A question that gets me is furher down bottom of page if your parents were born on or after 1 jan 1983 you will also need to provide evidence of your grandparents claim to british nationality by providing their birth cert and in the case of granfathers their marriage cert to your grandmother if certs are available this does not apply if your parent's british nationality is based on registration,naturalisation or their immigration status. Now this has got me wife was born 1984 but as above mentioned before do they need both our passports etc etc. If so could find it difficult gaining this for wife being in oz. Im not clear on this. Other stuff not related stupid why the ask change of name, evidence,going back to maiden or unmarried name again not relevant,changing spelling of your name, rest on checklist are not relevant too. Thats it guys in short what is it they want as need to get this off next week have a read through that as its doing my head in baby brain and lack of sleep at nights does it for me. As you guys have now probably done this what did you use to send docs in,what method of postage did you use and how much? im right in saying if I have to supply passport of mine then no longer needs to be sent but can be copied and now sent. in regards to your 119 firm evidence of citizenship I was talking about this online and was getting pretty annoyed have grant letters etc was not enough or even as someone mentioned vevo I was told I could use an old passport I still have with a label in it,this passport is now expired as have newer one and I'm not sure if label would even still be valid. And like others never bothered with my newer passport as done electronically. if I'm able to use my old passport great and as I was told it's proof of pr well can't get more proof than than in an old passport? but still thing it's mad one agency don't talk with another to confirm. i have paid for my child's uk passport online so need to get cracking on this,but also have oz application I'm told also no harm in applying for both same time as one does not know of other and don't care.has anyone applied same time for two. yes I will get the 119 evidence of citizenship down the line but would rather it wait just now and get both passports.but if it comes to post office not accepting my old passport with label in then I have no other options. in regards to passport photos uk and oz are different sizes how much different are they?as went to aus post today and as baby is pretty young was hard to get him in the right mode,I said to guy I want these for uk and oz passports,we tried before 20 mins previous as said guy tried a few shots was not happening went back and was starting to give up, post office guy said he got one should be ok. i said remember one is for uk and other oz passports,he said it be fine just use any of them we are only taking a few mm. End of the day he be the guy at post office that accepts the oz application but if oz passport agency is happy all good as not only that I thought both eyes had to be wide open,one of his eyes is slight shut,guy in post office said they will be fine done loads of these,and they are pretty flexible at that age. ok that's good on oz passport but it's the uk passport pics he said to use which is same size as the oz ones again says fine it be a bit of a carry on if uk knocks pics back due to being oz size. You can pay Aus post to check your application for sending to uk by the way has anyone done this so would hate to pay that fee he says ok to uk passport pics and uk passport guys knock it back,it would delay things further and he would need to take pics again hope at his cost,but what about me if I need to send new pics to oz and uk passport guys,best he not cover costs there. By the way did you post your stuff in a a4 envelope and was this supplied at auspost office for uk application docs or even oz application or did you send in smaller envelope? I like to keep my docs a4 size and not fold but I bet when they return your docs back from uk the fold them in half? sorty for long post

Ok thanks they I can look into this later on just when you think you are done with paying out something else comes up, if they ask for it now then so be It if not then I can look into it later on.
